Villain's OPR stats aren't bad, mainly because he finished deep in the Million once. No other reads.

I say check-call again, if he's going to keep betting like a total pansy.

i'd put him on an A, smaller PP (with which he attempts to bluff with) or air. i dont think he is betting a K or a Q on the turn, although the betsizes look as he might be somewhat ******ed, so that cannot be ruled out completely. KQ is an option, too but why would he bet that so small? all in all i dont think there is much value in betting and c/c should be fine

Well you didn't give us much to construct a read with, but I'd think A2+, 66+. Sure, it's entirely possible he flopped a set of kings and has been suck-betting the whole time, but if he's going to bet 1/10 of the pot and a call would leave you with ~20BB if you lose, I think you're obligated to look him up with top pair. Your hand is good maybe 25% of the time here.

check and if he wakes up and suddenly bets a reasonable amt (8k+), fold since he has KK/AK/AQ/AA always, and he prob checks behind or bets tiny again with all weird 1 pair hands (JJ-77) that he's turned into bluffs on flop and turn as well as aces that you chop with (AJ/AT).

is it bad that i really want to fold pre.

30bb w/A9 OOP doesnt seem like a spot I want to find myself in regularily especially to UTG 3x

im all for the c/c camp usually since randoms love bluffing away chips but i think block bet fold to raise might be slighter better. I cant see him showing up with worse than AQ too often. i would hate c/c a 15k+ bet and these guys who donk bet flop/turn tend to follow it up with huge river bets. so i like gay block bet of like 6k leaving 20bb and fold to raise/shove since hes never bluffing and rarely is value raising with chopped Ax.

edit: and yea i might fold pre but if i feel too priced in then i better hit flop hard to continue.

I fold pre

Pre is a fold, yes.

So no one thinks that we can check-raise or simply shove the river?

Well after discussing it with you I think a shove is best!

Like we said, shoving folds out chops a decent amount of the time and you're beat very very rarely.

Def fold pre. Surely someone else has a stronger ace than you.
07-22-2008 , 09:06 PM
so with 30 BB, what hands are we calling pre given the 3 way pot so far? KQ? KJs? 22-TT, 76s+, QJs? AQs and AQo?

It seems like A9s is fine to call pre here. if not, when does A9s become a call pre? 60bb?

I guess QJs and KJs are borderline given stacks and the action.

id rather call pre with like T9s or such, hands that can flop big draws and arent easily dominated. calling pre with A9s u end up suckered in with TP and usually u were way behind.

a shove here is TERRIBLE. He probably will bet <5k on the river, if hes bluffing your ahead, if hes playing a monster like a donk u lose less, if hes bluffing you win....shoving is just about the worst idea ever.
I dont think he folds enough chops for you to win if you c/r, I mean, what hand do u have thats big that you play like this ever?
Also, he CAN be playing a big hand like a tard...
