I wasn't sure where to put this, but this forum seemed to me the most appropriate place. Its strategy-related, so MTTc-Live didn't seem quite right. Please feel free to move it as the mods desire.
Sunday at the Chicago Poker Classic there will be a $500+60 7-game event.
The structure is odd, because at each level, the blinds for the big-bet games are close to or equal those for the limit games. Basically, the big-bet games will always be about 3 levels (hours) ahead of where they should be.
From a strategy perspective, how would this affect your play, both in the limit games and in the big-bet games? Tighter than a more typically structured 7 or 8 game tournament or looser?
Answers of "The structure's so messed up, I wouldn't enter" aren't helpful, but thanks anyway. We in this area don't get a lot of chances to play mixed game poker, and I don't think this issue will stop anyone who wants to play.
I know that it depends on the feel for the table; who's paying attention and who's not, etc. I will, of course, take these things into account as the tournament develops. But is there a good answer to this in a more general sense? (assume you just moved to a new table from a broken table and don't know the table dynamics)
Thanks in advance for your help.
