People also just hood the blinds a lot more now compared to 3bet/f.

Your ranges are also quite a bit off for todays online tourney game (both players in this hand are online regs), things are a lotttt different than they were when you were playing.
It's not just about wider three betting ranges it's about much wider potential 4 bet bluffing ranges. If I am raising 12% UTG and think a three better is three betting too much I can 4B/Call or just rip it with at least 40% of my opening range. If you are raising like 70% of buttons you aren't going to be able to successfully 4b/call with J7s. So even if you expand your value 4b/calling range a ton from LP you will never come close to the 4b/calling frequency you have with your EP opens. That creates a lot more potential opportunities to 4bet bluff because you have so many more hands you can't 4bet call.

like his 3/5 there tbh. I had bottom of my 4/call range and nearly puked wen i saw 44. Moaned it on tho, thought was drawing dead after the flop bricked.
The field was pretty sick with like 40 left, but i busted 13th, andrew 19th, roothlus like 15th, Jdpc 16th, lonehixx 25th and cal4268 like 30th.
The final is full of irish qualifiers :-(

Yeah, good post. I still think my point still has merit though for a few reasons: You can and will call 3bets otb quite a bit more than when you open in ep. I think people will 4b/f their more playable hands (QJs types) from ep way way more than they will from the button. People are also very aware of everything you said which results in less 4bet bluffing for fear of people 3b/5b very wide for value and as bluffs.
