Re: ***HSMTT QUICK CHECKUP THREAD***

Borgata $400 100k Hand:

I have ~70k. Have a really aggro image, have been raising quite a bit and not getting much resistance.

Blinds 800-1600

UTG open jams 33k. UTG was like mid-40s maybe. Seemed like just a usual bad live player with bad live player leaks. Folds to me in BB with AQo. We?

Factors to consider:
-His range obviously. If we exclude QQ+, then we pretty much need him jamming AJo to make it an acceptable call.
-My advantage over the table (although we are expected to break fairly soon).
-Pretty fast structure with blinds going up every 30 mins, so we'll need chips, and having 100k+ at 800-1600 could be a huge advantage.

Re: ***HSMTT QUICK CHECKUP THREAD***

$1k live final table, AUD250k up top

Blinds 40k/80k/5k and we are 7 handed
Hero has 1.4million
Villian has 615k

Villian is an older losing reg with too many bad beat stories but willing to tell them all. He has been quite tight, if not the tightest at the table but his position has resulted in some of that. He has been to the direct left of the most active preflop player at the table, not getting many look ins and isnt willing to 3bet ship correctly, wants to fold payjumps. He came into the final 10 with 2nd smallest stack and has made a few pay jumps that mean a lot to him.

I have been fairly tight with my short stack, have doubled once with A5 and busted a player with QQ, had open shipped once and showed a 5, no other hands to showdown.

Hero is in BB, dealt A7o
Villian moves all in for 695k, folds to hero

615k more for her to call

Calling hands like A9 and KJs when UTG 40s guy rips in 20 bigs sounds like a horrible idea

Sorry. That calling range was for MarGar's hand, not the UTG Shove hand.

hahaha yeah that makes more sense. I see now you mean 'a couple hands up from A7 on the chart', not 'a couple hands up on the thread'. My mistake, I'm sure you can see why I was like lol

Re: ***HSMTT QUICK CHECKUP THREAD***

Villian is pretty awful, his range is AQ AJ AT in this spot, how would you play this turn?

Poker Stars $150+$12 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t350/t700 Blinds + t85 - 6 players
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

BB: t22938 M = 14.70
Hero (UTG): t22110 M = 14.17

CO: t70279 M = 45.05
BTN: t52833 M = 33.87
SB: t82430 M = 52.84

Pre Flop: (t1560) Hero is UTG with K A
Hero raises to t1400, 1 fold, CO raises to t2800, 3 folds, Hero raises to t5788, CO calls t2988

Flop: (t13136) 8 3 8 (2 players)
Hero bets t1333, CO raises to t4200, Hero raises to t7067, CO calls t2867

Turn: (t27270) Q (2 players)

Re: ***HSMTT QUICK CHECKUP THREAD***

If you think he is FoS on the flop then I would probably just jam over the initial raise. There's enough in the pot to make it worth it and take your 6 outs if he has some overpair or something.

If your guess about his range is right, x/c turn. If he checks back I think blanks rivers are close between a v-bet and a x/f. Board pairing rivers are the most interesting problem, I think I probably jam Qx, not sure what to do about others.

super satellite, payouts are 33/33/33/0/0

the 4 better is really unbalanced here with too many bluffs, and I think CO knows this.

Re: ***HSMTT QUICK CHECKUP THREAD***

+1, Ya and even if CO knows he has too many bluffs he still will realise he has zero fold equity, and if he is decent he can't really be getting in much unpaired stuff in this format (like Ak should be a fold in his spot icm wise I guess)

Re: ***HSMTT QUICK CHECKUP THREAD***

trying to improve my sattyskills so got a few questions:

I ve seen a bunch of huge shuvs on satty-FTs like this recently for 40 BB+ over a single open. Are we just always assuming that villain calls correctly and most likly can call KK/AA only? How do we take into account that we might play against players who dont play/know ICM good enough and end up calling wider than they shud? Shud we shuv less wide against them or rather still 3bet? Also what does these shuving ranges look like for that many BB and what shud we be shuving in this exact spot?

Also in the spot in the hand above how do we play a) 77 b) AQo c) JQs

Re: ***HSMTT QUICK CHECKUP THREAD***

if your opponent calls incorrectly you need to make massive adjustments. Like there are situations where folded to sb if bb calls correctly then sb wins ~100% of pots, but if bb will call cEV or something then sb wins close to 0% of pots. But yeah it's hugely dependent on stacks and # of seats/players left.

To estimate how tight you should call all you need is a) how likely to win a seat if you fold b) how likely to win a seat if you call/win c) how likely to win a seat if you call/lose (0 if you're calling all in obv). Then it's just simple math. eg. if you're 85% to win if you fold and you're calling all in then your calling range is {}.

As for shoving, estimate calling range and do math. The reason you see massive shoves is that there are so few hands (not infrequently none) that you want to induce with that you just jam instead.

Note that having a reputation as a spite caller is absurdly profitable in satellites, though the spite calls themselves are lighting money on fire.

Lastly, I mostly just replied to your post so I could ask you to please stop using u's instead of o's (and then just removing other letters sometimes?), it's ridiculous

was gonna rip all of these of course, I thought AK was just barely strong enough to equity trap with (or induce a 4b/fold.) It looks like we still need to win a pot before we have a winning stack. This bigstack is a loose passive fish and wont own bubble but will just bleed to everyone.
Anyhow. I folded and 4 bettor folded. I ended up feeling pretty bad about it.
