dude, didn't your mom ever tell you that if you don't have anything positive to say don't say anything at all? and from a mod no less. just unreal.

man, when I play the million and get raised on the first hand, I generally don't think 'hey, this guy will fold somewhere, once I put in a bunch more chips I'll win this hand for sure'

it's more like 'I hope that when I recheck my cards I have top top cause he's going busto with top not'

Sounds like some of you need to think outside of the box!

I like your line so far bKIcE

c/r turn > lead turn imo lead river big if he checks turn back

but not really a fan on the very first hand of the mil

"higher level thinking" and "first hand of million" dont go together imo.

as played, i prolly lead the turn. a cr would be nice but more often than not villain is scared of the heart and will check behind, giving you only one street to bluff him, which will be very unlikely.

ya ur post is an oxymoron.

dear god, where are all the higher level thinking players? like i need to hear what jokers like adanthar and juttelstud have to say with all their negativity.

sick play so far. i go for the check/minraise on the turn.
04-06-2008 , 06:18 PM
either that or bet the same amount you did on the flop, and minraise over whatever he makes it. despite whatever odds he'll be getting, he'll be forced to fold due to the sheer power of your poker talent.

Is there a last shorter bet you forgot to mention?

so i checked turn, villain bet 4k into 4045 with about 4k behind, i...? anyone like a check raise all in here to represent the nut flush and fold out any set or worse and possibly a small flush?

Spoiler:
actual results: first hand of mill 6 tables etc i glance at my sb and see AQo and reraise a button raise for value. i cbet small when i flop top top to induce a raise, which i then elect to call. after calling the raise, i looked back at my hand to realize i had A9o, at which point i immed check-folded the turn and started rolling a blunt to prevent tilt. after showing this to a few friends and finishing said blunt i realized it was too good a hand not to post and try to level everyone, i was hoping for cincykid to come in here and vigorously defend my play or bakes to just go off on me for being completely incompetent... alas, no one really did.

I was going to post this was a level, but it seems like I am just copying BKice, but trust me.
04-07-2008 , 04:10 AM
nevermind lol
04-07-2008 , 04:23 AM
i like the tilt prevention strategy.
04-07-2008 , 12:19 PM

You could have gotten some good stuff if you had let the "fold out a small flush and set" line simmer a bit.
04-07-2008 , 12:41 PM
You've got to believe he'll fold his KQ and bet large enough to do so. I don't think he'll fold his KQ for any reason.
