$330 live at Bay 101. 40 entrants. 29 left. Final 10 get supersatellite to WPT. My image is standard as is villain. We're 7-handed. Blinds 200-400. He has 5600 and i have 4300. we started w/ 5k. he makes it 1200 from hijack. I have K,Qh in BB. I elected to stop and go. It worked. Is that pretty standard in this spot?

when would a stop and go be appropriate then...smaller stack such that he wouldn't have fold equity to the preflop reshove?

Hey, you guys are not adjusting to the situation in a satellite. I like a stop and go better than a preflop push in a satellite with a high ratio of seats to players. You both want to survive. The SNG minimizes the chances you bust and villain is likely to fold to it if he misses the flop.

stop n gos are better if you leave yourself 65-100% of the pot to lead out on the flop. Here you're left with quite a bit more than pot, so the "go" part of the stop and go is committing your whole stack to win the medium sized pot, at which point your opponent can choose to pursue or dump it, but is getting a much better offer than in a standard stopngo setup. Better to shove. Think of what hands you'll fold out with your stop and go that you wouldn't fold out with your preflop shove, and you'll realize there aren't many.

You are pushing 3100 into a 2600 pot. Also, KQs is a perfect hand for this play. I like the SNG in a satellite.
