Big 55 final table preflop spot Big 55 final table preflop spot

Villian is a good reg and is opening every time is folded to him because of the shortstack. Is this a good spot for a shove like i would normally do or is better to fold and wait for the shortstack to go and get $1500 extra.

this shove is pretty bad

This is probably +cEV but not enough for it to be anything other than this:

He's probably barreling a lot too, your hand is perfect to just call, hit a pair and call him down, or to check/jam a lot of flops where you have some marginal equity
01-20-2012 , 05:36 AM
flat

27bbs is IMO too much to shove to an open raise. The best option is to flat, you commit yourself with a 3bet and I can't find a fold here.

Call

why the heck are we calling pre. KT is a very marginal hand, oop vs agg reg who is not making mistakes. why dont we fold this one out, wait till the shorty busts, fold acouple orbits if ur getting junk, and reshove ATC when u have 22 BB or something when he opens the button - supposing he didnt change his overly agg. button opening pattern.

seems fine to me bunch of nits in this thread.
01-20-2012 , 06:47 PM
yup i'm a nit i guess i think folding is actually the best considering icm and being oop rest of hand vs solid reg. you'll find better spots and move up in the $
01-20-2012 , 11:21 PM
Well the obvious question to ask is how many times has it folded to him on the button. If its a lot then this is a shove, a good bit then a flat and if its a few then I guess I`m folding.

Fwiw im currently in the shoving camp as well... also I agree with the principle of ICM but you also kinda want to show ur not gonna be pushed around- also if we assume gerardox is a pretty good reg does this mean we should ignore ICM more as we need a stack to maximise our EV in this late stage of the tourney?

I'll give a Larry David apology to TheChamp and say that I'm sorry you were offended by the pic.

calling is awesome all y'all who are saying it has bad have never played HU before
01-22-2012 , 07:01 AM
I'd take a flop vs someone who opens any two. Tad to deep to be shipping I think but it can't be bad because he's folding like 80% of the time.
01-22-2012 , 11:46 PM
flat all day if he's any decent and has opened a fair share so far, folding is right behind calling but it seems like giving up $$$ in this spot

i was watchign this final table cuz a friend was on it and at first was like lol wtf is he doing but i don't think it's that bad... I prefer a flat, but he's going to call really tight here and he was opening like 100 percent of hands in this spot. I don't mind it at all.
