Yes

Also, make it 800 pre and the flop is a pot size shove which looks a lot less like AK whiffed.

Yeah as steve says by popping it to 800 preflop it shows your a bit more committed to the hand and makes a shove all in on the flop look a bit more natural as opposed to one thats more than the pot size.

Could you elaborate a little bit on the bet sizing? Inhowfar does it change the situation?

If I raise to 800 pre, I'm commited and will go broke on basically any flop, right?

If I raise to 560 pre and bet 900/call or shove the flop, I have the same result. Hence, I wonder why any of these lines is better than the other? Is it just to avoid the overbet that looks "bluffy"? If so, what is the difference to bet 900/call?

I dont' think it is a good idea to just mini raise with your hand and your position as well. (A,K) is a drawing hand and not a made hand, I would rather shove with this hand and get maximum value or fold if I miss everything on the flop.Besides u are not in position to wait and see. I agree with Steve about the big reraise and then shove after the flop because it looks more like u are committing no matter the flop is, and it really defines your hand well with the pot size shove. U got the point right about raising 800 pre and then u are commited, the opponents will think the same way and see you having a strong hand!!!! the Small reraise and then a bet on the flop is not really a very good way to play (A,K) since it is just (A,K)!!!

Considering he has 3x as many chips as you do, and calling costs barely 5% of his stack, your (almost) min 3-bet accomplishes nothing except to entice villain to call with pretty much ATC. You need to raise pot (750-800) to clear out the riffraff hands and make it so that your flop shove is pot-sized. Now if you do get called you're probably looking at 22-JJ, AT+, KJ+, JT. A large part of this range whiffs this flop and the underpairs are going to have trouble calling your bet when it's a natural pot bet and doesn't look bluffy. As it happened he had TT and probably wasn't going anywhere regardless, but you still need to pay attention to your bet-sizing in this situation.

I would make it 700ish preflop and shove almost any flop i miss when he checks to me, shove A x x K x x flops most of the time and check back some of the time

Yeah... Can someone move this to SSMTT pls? And can we have some sort of mod down power added so certain posters are "below the threshold"? That'd be nice...
