28 pay theres about 70 left

hero ~19K
villian covers

Villian is older man, he has been playing loose/passive. Has been in a lot of pots but seems to play standard/ok postflop, prolly calls a little too much.

My image is tight solid, but i dont think villian is the type who pays attention to this kind of stuff.

super weak field, structure is semi fast w/ 30 min blinds, it just went to 500/1k/100 and average stack is about 20k

hero opens to 3k w/ AKo from EP, folds to villian in the BB who calls.
flop comes KJJr, chks to hero who bets 4k, and villian talks a bit and asks how much i have left, then moves allin

whats my play?

push preflop. as played call.

raise/fold is bad b/c it leaves you with M of only 6 after the blinds. also, you have top pair and chances are he doesn't have a jack.

My personal opinion (which u should prob ignore cuz I'm awful at satellites, as well as all forms of tournament poker): check behind flop. He's your typical loose/passive old guy who prob isn't giving much action on this flop unless he nailed it. It's not like it's an internet player check/raising you. So check behind flop and see what he does on turn. As played, you're prob beat but I don't think I can ever fold after committing so many chips. Pray for a chop imo.

I agree with Mr.WeakTight except I wouldn't shove pre, unless you get reraised, then put it in the middle pre.

once you bet 4k you have to call. the idea of checking the flop behind is basically not bad but with 16BBs left there is not really a point in pot control...

i would rationalize me into a call as follows: loose/passives like to slowplay so chances are slim that he has a J. i have 16BBs left and top pair so i am committed. the bubble is still far away.
