Only one hour into Day 2 (60 mins levels)
60 players left
Top 27 get paid

200 ante
Blinds 600-1200
Hero: 70K
Folds around to hero on button
Hero: 3s 5h
Hero: raise to 2400
V1: fold
V2: calls (villain has me covered)
Flop: Qd Jd 3c
Villain checks
Hero: bet 3K
Villain: check-raises to 8K
Hero: calls (we are playing somewhat deep and think I can rep a flush here quite often if it comes in and I did think there was a chance that a 3 or 5 could give me the best hand, and I'm in position)
Villain: dark bets 17K
Turn: Kd
Board: Qd Jd 3c Kd
Hero: All-in for 45K more...

Pretty much readless on villain...

Sick bluff or pick a better spot?

check flop

I don't like checking flop because you don't have very much sd value on this coordinated board that will often get messier in a variety of ways, you're announcing that you don't have much of anything, and you're giving V the green light to bomb later streets and put you in ****ty spots. if bb is a nit, a typical old man, or seems generically middle aged and casual about his approach to poker then just cb/f flop, check back most turns if called and re-eval river. OP gives us no info whatsoever about villain but I highly doubt anybody who is less than 40 yrs old is cr flop and DARK BETTING THE TURN here, and the dark bet almost completely eliminates the entire (if any?) air/draw portion of his range.

he clearly jizzed himself on the flop, and when you say you can rep flush cards and make him fold, thats a pretty ambitious judgment to make with absolutely zero history on somebody who is likely a fish and playing the hand with this level of blind commitment.

whether or not he's gonna actually give you credit for a flush is gonna depend a lot on history and general tendencies, of which you have/know none of. if villain is in fact 40+ yrs old and you're in your 20s and/or wearing headphones and a hoodie then shipping turn is probably beyond horrible since you have virtually no equity when called and shouldn't even be confident that you can make him fold a significant % of the time.

Not a sick bluff at all... Why are you calling a check raise on this flop? Then spew when a card that hits Vs range hands lands on the turn?

Not a fan of this play

This line is bad for quite a few reasons. First of all, if this Villain folds to c-bet often enough, then I am fine with a flop stab. If not, than it's pointless, since it's hard for us to continiune after we face any action. Second of all, never bluff this kind of fish. Just don't. Fold to his raise, move on. You should exploit him by max value betting when you have it, not trying to bluff him with no equity. Thirdly, he is not folding turn after he bets dark, I think it should be pretty clear. He is never folding it. Especially to your silly all-in, he is comitted there with any value hand he has.

Most important tho, don't try to bluff this kind of fish.

you missplayed every decision.

Pre and flop I'd play the same.

Op, what do you think villain's range looks like after c/ring flop and dark betting here?

the key to no limit texas hold em ist to put a man to a decision for all of his chips. r1gger just did that.

i like it better with the 5d

as played your bluff equity + twoouterplsriveranother3 equity isn't enough to beat his QJ 2pr equity

I'm fine with betting flop but I am folding to a raise. I don't like the open shove on the turn, what we you trying rep? Would you really shove a flush? Doesn't make sense to me

I hate plan A of opening unless SB and BB are SUPER tight. And did you really play a hand because you thought a 3 or 5 would hit. Personally I like 7s. But that does not mean I should play every 7 I see on the button. Plan B seems aggro spewy. Stack sizes are relevant to even consider this play.
