FTOPS got me playing tournies for the first time in a couple of years. So now I'm playing all the big buyins this week including the nightly $150. Anyway, is flatting here awful? CO is one of you guys and certainly good. I kinda hate raising b/c if he shoves I'm a dog to his range so.........

FWIW, I was snap getting it in if there was a squeeze behind and CO folded

thats absolutely fine...and what i think most mtters are doing here...3b is fine too, but i prefer flat this early

I usually 3bet, his range is pretty wide iso'ing a utg limper.

Yep. But flatting isn't bad or anything.

My standard is flat as well but 3betting isn't bad either

the good thing about flatting here is that we dominate a ton of his isoing range which he would fold to a raise

Standard flat in position, 3b/c in the blinds.

Ok thanks guys. Just making sure.

And anyone who likes 3 betting is folding quickly to Waco's shove, yes?
02-11-2009 , 01:05 PM
Yeah, I'd just call against Waco, because I think you have a very tough decision if you 3bet and he jams. 3bet/call all day against more aggro opponents if you have an aggro image.

Looks good.

Against a random opponent, 3 betting is fine. Flatting is certainly ok.

say what? i think 3 bet is mandatory. he is isoing a limper on the cutoff so he's got a pretty wide range. and i would assume that he is aware of this and expects to get played back at least somewhat (or at least not by just 99+,AK), especially by the button. plus it just seems like a crappy spot to be in with AK if the limper comes along since you're generally going to have to flop something to win the pot.

edit: and i'd be fine getting it in pre of course. if that was somehow bad i'd just laugh.
