Hey guys,

I recently finished 12th in this event, and I was grinding a short stack for the longest time while being dealt completely cold. I finally picked up TT UTG @ a 7-handed table that I had only moved to 3 hands before the one below. I made, what I thought at the time, was a very disciplined laydown with about 14 players left. See what you think...

PokerStars - $1000+$50|5000/10000 NL (9 max) - Holdem - 7 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

MP: 1,418,268.00
CO: 776,402.00
BTN: 209,281.00
SB: 1,137,817.00
BB: 680,853.00
Hero (UTG): 243,922.00
UTG+1: 159,180.00

MP posts ante 1,250.00, CO posts ante 1,250.00, BTN posts ante 1,250.00, SB posts ante 1,250.00, BB posts ante 1,250.00, Hero posts ante 1,250.00, UTG+1 posts ante 1,250.00, SB posts SB 5,000.00, BB posts BB 10,000.00

Pre Flop: (23750.00) Hero has T T

Hero raises to 21,345.00, fold, fold, CO raises to 50,999.00, fold, fold, BB raises to 679,603.00 and is all-in, fold, fold

BB wins 137,093.00

The CO's 3bet didn't scare me at all, as he's a skilled REG and I know he'll do that with almost anything in this spot. I knew nothing about the BB except that his second biggest score to this point was $1500. So I didn't think he'd make this move light, as he'd probably be more likely to hang on as long as he could. Considering I raised UTG with about 22 BB and was 3-bet, I figured I had to put this BB's 4-bet-shove range on a MINIMUM of AQs/JJ+ (if not stronger), and I'm not beating enough of that range to call here. Also, about 5 of the remaining 14 players left had 25BB or less, so I didn't want to make a big mistake and call off the tourny as a 4:1 dog with such a huge FT @ stake.

This may be somewhat results oriented of me, but I was put to about 8 really difficult decisions in my last 2 hours of this tournament with tiny pairs and weak aces. I'm trying to figure out in which spot I could've done better. This is the one I'm debating the most. Might he be overplaying any ace? Any pair? Spazzing out? Is it worth the call considering winning the pot would give me about 60BB and give me a top 5 stack?

Given all this info, I'd love to hear your feedback!

Thanks guys!

Seems like a pretty standard fold here, folding JJ here too I guess.

I say that about the CO knowing specifically this player's habits, and my thinking he views me as a player who will hold on as long as he can to make more money in this big a trny. But, then again, that image will beget him action in certain spots and maybe he does have a hand here more often than I thought.

Curious to know what you guys think of this:

The BB's track record doesn't imply too high a level of thinking nor the bankroll to ignore the pay jumps in this tournament. But if he's also aware of the CO's wide 3-betting range in this spot, do I have to consider that before folding the TT. In other words, if he knows what I know about CO, and knows he has me 3-1 in chips even if I call and win, how often will he make this move with any pair or ATs+?

^^ not often enough imo. Plus, you can't completely discount CO as a snapfold here because sometimes loose 3bettor's pick up hands too (especially if you've been r/f pre a lot then I would think a 4bet was coming sooner or later).
