Was wondering if you guys could do me a favour and give me some rough figures re: weight loss bet.

Two scenarios:

1) 22 year old, 6ft male who weighs 280lb trying to get down to 224lb by Christmas.

2) 21 year old, 6ft male who weighs 259lb trying to get down to 161lb by Feb 26th.

What sort of odds would you be willing to offer?

If you need any other info, I'll be happy to provide it. Never done this sort of prop bet so no idea what info you need etc.

Thanks in advance.

1) 56 pounds in about 90 days? = 2200kcal deficit/day, will lose a lot of water at the beginning so lets say 2000kcal

bmr for him is 2600 so maintance prolly 3000(unless he has an active job which I doubt)
even if he is doing heavy cardio 1 hour every day he still can only not eat more than about 1500kcal

havent even added refeeds(to keep metabolism going) yet so he prolly has to do even more activity

this whould need a HUUUUUUUUUUUGEEEEEEEE amount of dicipline and the chance that someone who got that fat in the first place is capable of pulling this off(mentally) is very, very slim

would offer 10:1 for sure

2nd) 100 pounds in 150days?
getting down that low?

you can offer as much as you want
wont make it

weight loss prop bets are stupid because enough money will motivate anyone. It's all relative a 5k bet for me would be the same to Ted Forrest 2million dollar prop.

i dont get your point at all
the chance of the people actually making it obv depends on how much money is involved(odds therefore change significantly based on that) but still if the timeframe is really short(like here) most fatties would strugge even if a huge amount of money were involved

Depending on the rules about near weigh-in behavior/protocol, #1 is difficult but doable. With good planning and discipline you can dump a solid 6-7 lbs of water weight leading up to the weight in, and ~50lbs in 90 days for someone that overweight is at least possible. Without knowing the person (ie. are they strong fat or weak fat?) I'd lay odds blind around 6-1. If we're talking about an apathetic/lazy weak fat, I'd probly take this at 15-1 or even 20-1

#2 is damn near impossible
