I setup the hammer strength power rack for bench press. The bottom pins are like half an inch below my arched position.
Today somebody else set it up and I took over. When I got to 205 I realized I hadn't done the check myself. So I lowered the weight slowly with no arch and yes the weight hit the safety pins. Perfect.
Now to my question. When I pushed the 205 back up after it was resting at chest level, it was surprisingly heavy from a dead stop. Is that what your pin presses are?? And do you know what they are programmed for? It's probably FPS for me, but anytime I find some exercise that seems hard, a lot of benefit seems to come along. And that 205 press off my chest felt heavy and hard even though I can bench more than 50 more than 205. Maybe I am using too much momentum, but my bench looks nothing like Snitch's divebombs. Cha did say I lower the weight a bit too fast.
Ya, if im understanding you correctly those are pin presses from chest level. They are to help with strength off the chest. The dead stop takes away most of the stretch reflex so it makes them a lot harder then a normal bench. Here is a video of Mike T doing them. Is this pretty much what you did?
Just looking at that squat video of you doing doubles with bands, I notice that you're stepping back to the point that the band are tied up in front of your feet, so when you're coming out of the hole it seems like it's pitching you forward slightly.
Maybe make sure that the bands are lined up with the middle of your feet to ensure an even bar path?
Both benches were super weak today. I only got like 3 hours of sleep last night. My training is all messed up this week too. I have to work out tomorrow and thursday, then im flying to Maryland on Friday to train with Mike T. and a bunch of people he coaches on Saturday and Sunday
There are a few of us that are pretty strong here, but we're not superstrong. Weasel's trainer (Mike Tuchscherer) is superstrong.
This.
Mike T. just had a meet on Saturday and here is the vid from it. The squat view is terrible but he sets and American Record in the deadlift with 843. The deadlift starts at :40. He went 744/444/843
I just got to Maryland to train with Mike t. Horrible trip so far. My knee and hip are killing me for some reason so not sure if I can squat tomorrow. Came to some restaurant and had to send two steaks back cause I ordered them rare and they came out medium well.
Good news is the waitress said the bead pudding is the best thing on the menu so I'm going to get that. I've never had bread pudding before. Hopefully kick want lying about how good it is
