Alright, got the avocados. Now what am I supposed to do again? Eat them and see if...I don't get hungry?

Holliday,

I just ate 500 cal of avocado:

1000 cal would be super easy, and I could def eat 2000 cal. I bet more than that starts to get tough. Looking forward to seeing what you can do!

I think loco would ideally have you just keep eating avocado until you can eat no more, and then see how many total calories you ended up binging.

If you had to eat it on it's own, that definitely would be a lot tougher. I don't think I've ever eaten more than 1 avocado in a session. Loco is right in that binging on fruit has to be better than binging on lollies and cookies.

They talk a good game but the peoples afraid to throw up 1000kcals of avocado.

Looks like 500 cals of fruit is the magic number to stuff fatties silly. Which of course makes it a surprisingly solid diet food to have around.

What are you talking about? You said eat two pounds "in the morning" and that's the plan. Sorry I couldn't find avocados yesterday--I had to go to a foo foo organic market and pay sucker prices to get six good ones. They weigh 2.8 pounds so should be plenty without the skin and seed.

Now if you'll excuse me, sir, I'm trying to get through this all-you-can-eat sushi over here.

7/10

previous: 199.6 200.2 200.2 199.3 199.0 198.6 198.2 198.6

weight: 199.6

Going to be in Austin for several days, so am pausing the weigh ins. Not sure how I should re institute them when I get back. i really don't want to do 8 days to establish a base again. Maybe I'll just take a couple days and then use the 8 im on now? I dunno. I really don't intent to turn into a fat piece of **** while im there, so im hoping to still be under 200 when I get back.

Alobar,

Just restart with a new 8 day cycle after your break, that has been working well for you so far.

Alright; basically a late breakfast. Peels and seeds totaled 0.8 lbs so that's just over 2 lbs for 6 avocados. Last one was a bit laborious but ultimately just get it in the mouth and swish it through your teeth like mouthwash and your in business. I'm definitely full but could cram in another one if I had to. But I'm out of avocados and gotta get wife to a dr appointment. Just going to chase with a whey shake and see when I get hungry.

I don't know if this was intended to be a zinger, but it has, and he should.

Though I would question pausing it for a trip, if the goal is to make lifestyle changes and alter his eating habits long-term.

Has anyone actually argued against your case?

No zinger at all. He shouldn’t try to make some variation on what’s working. Just take the break he wants then restart the system that’s working for him.

Agree with El Diablamus et. all in just restarting the 8 day thing. Just don't angle by bingeing MLYLT style or something.

back from Austin. Gave up on logging after a couple days, was just too hard to try and accurately figure out calories because I was eating lots of stuff that i had no experience with estimating. I wouldn't have done too horrible on calories except I went to a bunch of breweries and cideries and so my alcohol calories are really what was in excess. I prolly averages 3-3.5K calories a day.

As long as that excess doesn't spill over now that I'm back I'm not going to feel bad about it, because I feel like it was acceptable given it was only a few days and kind of like a vacation, and I never felt like I was off the rails or being a complete glutton. Typically this would be where I always fall apart tho, do good for a while, then have a break, and I spiral out and am not able to get back on the track I want. So hopefully that doesnt happen here and the pressure of weighing myeslf again will keep me in line.

I think I'm going to go from 8 days to 7, as I really want to lazer focus on my diet, and the physical exercise I am able to do with back.

I take it the diet break for your vacation has extended itself?

One possibility would have been to bring the scale, and just trying not to let the weight rise or not by much, outside the challenge, simply by holding back a little. Then to resume the challenge when the time is right. That could lessen the probability all gained is lost (or the lost is gained, no pun intended )

RIP

A devasting loss for h&f. He was a rising star, a man that would lead fatties to salvation. But the grim reaper dressed as Dr Pepper, and took him from us.

We can ask ourselves, what is the lesson learned here? Well first of all, it's pretty hard to change the habits of someone who ate everyday like he was on death row. It was all sugar and fat. One day he really did have 15 times more grams of sugar than grams of protein!!!! Wat.

And another lesson here is that fatties shouldn't try to reinvent the dieting wheel. This guy gave freerolls based on a fluctuating average 7 day weight, where the last day's bodyweight squared plus total intake of sugar had to be less than the first day. Wat.

And the final lesson is to get on a training program. Doesn't matter the exercise, but a program written by a professional and intended for a beginner. Instead of just random exercise clicking a la rexx and lapka.

RIP Alobar but at least he has a smile on his face with a 2L bottle of Dr Pepper on hand.

*sigh*

When I first got back something was wrong with my scale, but really the problem has been that I knew I was going to be over 200lb again, and I started doing what I often do, I just stopped weighing myself, because then I don't have to stare at the disappointment. All the while being like "going to crush the diet and get back under 200lb then I'll sort this all out and get going again". But not being on hook for anything it became really easy to be like "eh, **** it, I can have pizza tonight and start tomorrow". Lather Rinse repeat

I know that I need to get back to what I was doing, because that was actually working, but I've lost the motivation of acheiving results and instead am mired in the exhaustion of thinking about all the work it will take just to get back to where I was

It is not really much work. How deep are you over 200 now? What is the back doing? Can you bike? Can you run?

Go for three days on 2 L Kefir + unlimited cucumbers or unlimited apples per day. + 1 hour of some cardio that you can do with your back + 1 hour of some kind of strength training that you can do with your back. I would say at least 5 pounds will disappear.

Yeah I think alobar was doing pretty good and needs to get back on the scale, posting ITT, and not donating to MLY. Honestly It'd be pretty easy for you to hit 200 el bees. I'm much, much further off.

Lapka said much the same but better prolly.

Step 1 is not being afraid of the scale, but again, here, you have less to fear than a real fat.

A long walk and/or leisurely ride per day and restricting his calories to 80-90% single ingredient whole foods (and mindfully logging) is really all he needs to do. Set up a routine that you enjoy, and enjoy it for it's own sake (and the ancillary life benefits that will result in you being more purposeful in this area) instead of just concerning yourself with an arbitrary weight end point.
