is dying because of all these LOGS/Fitness Diaries

start a blog online or something and stop clogging the space. its nice to see your result and that we are all getting healthier/stronger...but there is no real discussions and new people are lost, won`t be searching 12pages+ logs...

just my opinion, delete/ban/flame all you want.

you've essentially started a blog online or something and it fits well in this space. its nice to see your result and that we are all getting healthier/stronger...and there is real discussions in non-log threads and new people can start logs too, which many have and is why there are 12pages+ logs...

just my opinion, revise/change/edit all you want.

****Official Beginner Question Thread**** is stickied on the top and is a good place for discussion, especially for new people. There's also the monthly LC thread, which is actually pretty high content and is usually near the top. More discussion threads can be found in the Resource Guide.

H&F is not dying and has had steady growth since its inception. The logs are a great way for new people to introduce themselves and learn a lot, both from their own logs and others. If it helps, think of H&F as a strat forum and logs as hand histories.

That's the main reason I come to this sub forum. To read other peoples logs and post in my own. The LC thread, beginner's questions, olympic lifting thread, and general gym observations thread are also good.

I feel like my Walden-esque log is a big hit and adds a lot for people looking to read a Walden-esque log that talks about working out sometimes.

everyone likes your log because no one's allowed to post in it.

exclusivity ftw.

The OP has a bit of a point tbh. But even if there was only 2 logs in H&F all the traffic would still be in the few threads tsearcher mentioned imo. The regs of this subforum would post their questions in the LC thread (almost all my questions are in the LC now)and the newer people would mostly post in the beginner thread i'd imagine and the odd thread.

It would be nice if the quality content from some long threads made it out for the occasional random to find (regs will find it anyway). Dunno though, the forum is pretty sweet.

Besides op, like anyone would post in my "ask me about being a 30 yr old recreational basketball player who still gets rim" thread.

We need a Myles "ask me about being the hero of H&F and my sexual facial hair and gunz", a Bruiser "ask me about being the size of a small child and forum raped by Thremp on every occasion", a DeMichele thread on "my quest to get a bodyfat % of a WW2 concentration camp prisoner". Yeah, i'd be up for those

The current structure of the forum is really good for browsing by regs.

You have the three never-ending threads (monthly LC, GGO, newbie questions) to constantly check up on and then the periodically bumped logs of people you find interesting.

From my POV at least it works really well.

ya I mean we could try to have a

-squat thread
-bp thread
-dl thread
-etc...

but they'd rarely stay on the front page

i'm in the process of trying to understand stable vs. unstable training.

maybe i'll make a thread about it tomorrow. i imagine that like 3 people will respond with meaningful responses and then the thread would disappear.

If you want, I can give my opinion on the matter. That will probably be good for a few flames.

Are you talking about that bosu ball stuff?

Seems pretty obvious what the theory is. Whether it's actually a good idea is another matter entirely.

Yeah, specialized threads that I've made die relatively quickly because no one is interested in the subject material. Like I could summarize Optimal Shoulder Performance, but only sfcard would read it. So I'll just PM him my thoughts.

what kind of "real discussions" does one want to have here anyway? What is there that should be "really discussed"? Benefits of steady state cardio? Carb-angst? I consider that kind of stuff LC, mostly.

I won't participate in the stable vs. unstable thread since I'm not remotely qualified, but I am very interested in reading it.

I'm very keen to read your thoughts on it (the new Cressey material right?) and whether it is a good investment for someone who needs to rehab their shoulder.
