if you are under 30, a non-smoker and don't get hurt/ill often, you should not pay over 200 imo

edit: not sure if where you live matters a lot though

i am a bankruptcy lawyer and can say without a doubt all of you reading this in the us should get health insurance. there are medicines that cost 100k a year and more for things like arthritis. you tend to think youll break an arm or something and that will be a one time shot. but young people do get chronic illnesses as well, get insurance. then proceed. that is all.

it does. in a guarantee issue state like NY or NJ, the difference in cost from a non-guarantee issue state like Texas can be huge. tho maybe for young people not as big of a deal. not sure.

Thanks for the responses everyone.. I am 25 years old, don't smoke and have never been seriously injured/sick.

I checked into getting health insurance briefly about 5 years ago and it was like $200 for a high deductable plan (I live in New Hampshire).. I admit that I did not shop around much at the time though.. I guess the best solution is to just bite the bullet and get health insurance before I start SS. I am really fu***** ******ed when it comes to lifting weights, so I'm sure I'll do something really stupid at some point.
