Probably a slight bit of hyperbole on my part since I was comparing to a 30+ year old grown as "man", lol. But his numbers are in the neighborhood of 315/150/405/135 right now. Not much of a bencher, just like his daddy. Chasing that BW press though. He plays lacrosse, so while getting swole is a bonus, it's a lot for sport.
He basically started lifting with regularity about a year ago, 16-17yo. I never wanted to be the dad that pushed him to do something he didn't want/
need to do, esp since I knew he'd love and do it the rest of his life if it was his choice.
And he hasn't missed a day of programming even with the gyms shut down here, home workouts every night, he must have HEART. Only weak people are using the shut down gyms as an excuse to slack ;-)
In all seriousness, if we're going solely for optimal, I would have started him at 10-12yo, no joke. I have a buddy who started his son that young, and he's killing it in football and t&f as a high school freshman. My concern there is burnout, but only time will tell...
