I guess I'm starting. I failed at all my goals last month for the most part. Or for every part. So let's try harder this month.

1. 13 workouts with hopefully at least 5 hockey related ones

2. Clean up diet much better this month

3. Lose at least 3 lbs. this month which will be insanely easy if I do the first two.

4. Lurk here more often for motivational purposes.

Now you guys, have better goals and do a better job of completing them.

Goals

Press 90% of bodyweigt
Continue to gtg push and pull ups
Start running/sprinting
Less fast food as PWO meal
Improve hamstring mobility

Will be happy to go 2 for 5

1) What is difference b/w Press and Bench? I obviously know bench is bench press, so what are you guys referring to on Press?

Also, I'm interested in what you guys do for motivation. Overall, my workout have went down from like 5 a week to 2-3 a week. But my drinking went down from 6 days a week to 1-2, and my going out to get wings while drinking did the same. So while before I was always in gym and could never get below 160lbs at 5'7", now I'm nearly at 150 and am not in any way pushing for it.

I'd like to have a more defined core as well as just better "fit" looking overall(aka aesthetics), but am wondering what you guys do for motivation when you are overall at weights lower than you have ever been or for you strength guys lifting more than you ever have?

Schwallie: Press = Overhead barbell press aka OHP

August goals:

1. Sub 78kg 76.7kg was the lowest, win!
2. Feel good about my exam after I have written it About 80% sure I passed, win!
3. Bench at least 90kg x 1 Did it yesterday, win!
4. Press at least 57.5kg x 1 Not even close, did 52.5gk x 1 and failed 55kg x 1 at least twice
5. 9 pullups Did 7

September goals

1. Bench at least 95kg x 1
2. Sub 80kg BW
3. Know what to do with my knee
4. Continue squatting/deadlifting and add some weight

We're opposites because I could press your 1rm 8 times but I couldn't bench 90kg to save my life.

Goals:

Lose another kilo of fat before knee surgery.
Start Rehab.
Don't put on fat during rehab.
Bench / press / chin program.

September will be a rebuilding month, after my gym was closed for the last 3 weeks and I was only able to get 1 barbell workout in . Despite that I managed to get fat, so I'll be building back to my old PRs while trying to drop a few pounds.

September goals:

14 Workouts
Weight: down to 160 (165 this morning)
Back Squat: 5x355 (will start at 286)
Front Squat: 3x286 (will start at 220)
Bench: 5x215 (will start at 185)
Deadlift: 5x375 (will start at 308)

Goals, hmhm. I'm a bit torn but will probably be eating at a surplus for the month and improving strength. Depends a bit how far I can go on PPAN though really. If I snap stall, I'm off.

Given that I don't stall (50/50 imo):
Squat: 3x5x120 kg ---> 3x5x140 kg (most ambitious goal)
Bench: 3x5x82.5 kg --> 3x5x87.5 kg
Press: 3x5x61.5 kg --> 3x5x65 kg
Sumo DL: 1x5x127.5 kg --> 1x5x140 kg
BW: 86.3 kg (190 lbs) --> 88 kg (194 lbs)

when doing pullups/chinups, are you supposed to keep your shoulders retracted? Seems like not doing so could be the cause of some shoulder pain, but it's hard for me to start from a dead hang with retracted shoulders.

If the bar is low enough you can stand on your toes to give yourself a little push. I have not had any problems with shoulder pain but I spend at least 5 minutes warming up my shoulders/back/arms before I start doing chins and pull ups. Don't do these exercise too fast or you will snap your shoulders up. Don't jerk your whole body around like you see some people do. It's not a speed competition.

We just call it the press, because how could you press without the shoulders? You can leg press... but that's gay.

Yeah I agree on OP fail, no siren of September. I nominate Brooklyn Decker if it's not too late, I'll post pics when I'm home and not on my phone.

It's bed time. I meant to grab a couple benadryl tabs for shleepy time. I just realized I took a couple caffein tabs instead, out of habit.
