4 hours of fishing= at least a 12pack. Have fun at your meeting.

Not sure what you mean by it will equal a 12 pack. I can attend the meeting, take notes, and function enough to get through the meeting after having a 12 pack though. Still leaning towards fishing. Not really required to go to the meeting, but "will help you your replacement if you go" type of meeting. Kind of feeling like F-my replacement since they are forcing me out. I figured I can be awake for it, just a little worried I can't get to the meeting for the start. Not sure what I will decide, but most likely I will be on the water in the morning.

I don't personally, but most of the thai dishes in the restaurants I eat are available with tofu instead of meat, I usually order my pad thai with extra chicken and no tofu since they will put in both unless otherwise noted

pretty much every thai restaurant ive been to allows for a meat selection with any meal including fish/chicken/beef/tofu...

lots of restaurants are also doing vegan chicken with homemade recipes, some are tasty, but i have no idea waht kind of macro breakdown they have...(note, i live in los angeles)

I would rephrase your comments that Thai food is more well suited to be adapted by vegetarians, rather than being a "part of the culture". The Thais are more carnivorous than your average American in terms of the variety of animal protein that they eat (which even includes insects). And you would probably get a more surprised response from a Thai than an American if you told one that you don't eat meat.

season 1 (which is like half a season) isn't so hot, but then from season 2 on it's been solid gold.

He also introduced me to thai food which is something I now eat a lot of, although I always get chicken and not tofu.

That reminds me of a time I went to a thai place and on the back of the menu was the large vegetarian menu. At the top it said 'Vegetarians are welcome.'

I always wondered if that was like, 'Vegetarians are welcome here, we have lots of choices for them.'

Or if it was more like 'Hey you vegetarians. See all these options? Yeah. You're welcome.'
one of my best friends is vegan, and I kinda hate visiting her now cuz there isn't **** to eat.

thai food is overrated anyway.

Gulf of Mexico, out of St. Pete Beach/Pass-A-Grille Area. Haven't fished down here since about 1994 or so when my Uncle took me out of Sarasota. Really leaning forward to it. Kind of just looking for negatives. They all point to go fishing and say f-it since I'm heading out in a month anyways.

05-18-2011 , 10:28 PM
yeah, just trying to find a possible downside. I haven't found one yet. Gonna head to bed and get up to fish in the morning.

That show was GOLD!!! It's a damn shame it didn't last longer.

Parks and Rec is fantastic tho. Season 2, episode 19 is hands down my favorite. Season 2 EP 9 is really good too (all are streamable if you have Netflix btw)

Pork + shrimp + finding a place where they actually know how to cook Thai food (Thailand works for this, among other places)= the secret to Thai food.
05-18-2011 , 11:39 PM
i like it, just never get stoked about it. I am a pad thai fan.

for int'l cuisine, i like greek, lebanese, that sorta ****. but i really like burgers, bbq, big roasts, old school american **** the best. and big ass sandwiches.

thai food is overrated cause there is "old school american" food like burgers?

+1 to Parks and Rec being awesome. Probably my favorite sitcom right now.

Us Americans just can't understand the intricacies of international food because its so complex.
05-19-2011 , 01:58 AM
I was friends with one of the writers brothers on that show, but he turned out to be a passive aggressive two faced bastard who avoided face to face conflict instead of being a man. So I never watched the show.

agree Mediterranean food is the best int'l cuisine. Well I love mexican as well (well, the southern california variant) but my mom is mexican so I really don't consider it "international."
