Car shopping can def get dangerous cuz you're already spending a buttload and you have to resist a lot of "well I'm spending this much what's another 5k."

Agree with kp though. Anything over 30k is swag money. Nttawwt, but you can get a damn nice car for under 30k. And really a good deal less than that.

But thanks to this thread I was def peeping some more expensive stuff today.

im thinkin of tradin my car in, slightly used IS 250 is my current top choice.

Drive one. They're nice, but they're really outdated by today's standards. A new model is due for 2014 and frankly it's a little late. They're still nice but the hp:mpg is pretty bad and they're really small inside.

Overall a very nice car, though, plus, it's the only thing in that segment to come with ventilated seats as an option and man is that nice. Pretty good if you have somewhere important to be and the back of your shirt isn't stuck to your back and you have that nice moist line runnin down your crack.

A fully loaded Camry/Accord/Legacy/Maxima/Mazda6 will run you around 30k, and when I say fully loaded, I mean it. These cars are very roomy and pretty goddamn nice. I would start test driving one step below(or two, you have no kids right?) and go from there. Maybe you'll appreciate the dynamics of a BMW, or the interior of an Audi, or the sedateness of a Lexus, but if you just run out and buy one for the sake of it you probably won't.

If I were me I'd get used GS350, if I were you I'd get a 2009-2011 Accord.
Good post. I bought a 2007 Honda Civic exactly for this reason, after considering cars that were twice as expensive cause I really don't give too much of a crap. Very content with the car.

Of course, cars here cost like 3x as much as in USA#1. Literally.

ya i was gonna check one out soon. i know the power issue is one thing because it would be slower than my TL. the smallness factor doesnt bother me too much because i rarely drive many ppl around but that was another recurring theme in the reviews ive read. i didnt know that about ventilated seats, seeing as how i live in florida i have that problem especially w my black car/black interior.

I see. Well, then why change I guess? Granted the IS would probably be more fun to drive, and it's not like OH MY GOD I ONLY HAVE 190HP HOW WILL I LIVE but imo low hp should come with high MPG.

I guess it wouldn't cost you much so it's more of a trade than an upgrade, and if your TL was made in the last five years you'd also no longer be driving something out of the Transformers movie.

I wish I was still playing poker, I'd have run out and got a Challenger already. Worst in mpg, hp, and handling, but maximum swag

There are 09 Q37's out there with less than 40k miles for less than 20k usd. Seems like a better choice than a honda/toyota unless your only criteria is reliability

Not a big fan of Challengers.

In other news... got some new protein today and opened it up to this beautiful sight. Seriously, nothing made my day like not having to search through the 4.3 lbs of powder to find this thing.

Scooper on top? You're one lucky mofo.

You reminded me though, I forgot to post this like a month ago when I got my new protein: it's scooper is SOLID GOLD! Is this normal, has anyone else gotten one of these? Or this this a sign from the gods?

instead of a g37 get a g37s, and then instead of g37s get a 370z, and then instead of the 370z just get a GTR. problem solved.

Couldn't you save the scoop from your last tub of powder just in case?
12-20-2012 , 06:09 PM
It's not just Socialist countries dude. Cars are ridiculous everywhere, Australia, UK, hell even in Germany a BMW is way more than it is in the states. I've heard people say that if you own a sportbike that costs $10k in the US in Russia you're guaranteed to be one of the super wealthy due to all the BS + all the bribes. I've heard the same about Brazil.

Also
Focus, Mustang, Corvette. These are all world-beating cars at lower price points than anywhere else in the world can offer.

pro move is to use the old scoop until you come across the new one.
