Take it easy on the runs instead of trying to go so hard.

Serious question:

What's the benefit from a body composition point of view of doing two metcon type workouts a week?

I see this recommended a lot as a way of mitigating fat gains while doing strength training, but I never see the explanation. Is it just the calories you burn in the workout itself or does it also increase your resting metabolism over the longer term?

I will be trying to balance SS with training for ultra-long distance, which I'm guessing will involve a ton of running. I have no idea how I'm going to do this at the minute.

Good guess imo

The point being, balancing the two is going to be pretty rough. I don't want to be an ADD kid and jump programmes before "finishing" SS, but I'm not sure how practical it will be to continue with once the volume of running increase sharply.

Hey man, Poliquin's distance athletes only train intervals and they would win every race if the drug testing wasn't so strict for Americans

I'm guessing his intervals consist of sprint 100m, inject 500mg, sprint 100m, inject 500mg.
11-03-2009 , 12:11 PM
sorry buddy, Charles Poliquin has said himself has said that he won't even take a new client without drug testing them

how long do you guys think i can make insulting posts but say i was just joking, before i run into problems?

an example would be, "i think thremp is a bad person, lol just joking he is OK" - will that be okay for a long time you think?

So I got the flu right. Like, I often hear people talk about the flu and think "quit your whining, how bad can it be?"

I just had a long sleep and was dreaming I was on an iceberg in the ocean, and my body temp was so high I was melting thru and afraid I'd drown. So then these dolphins show up, to save me I figure. Well don't they turn out to be zombie dolphins with sharp snapping teeth and red eyes trying to pull me off the iceberg to eat my brain!

I woke up not sure what was going on still swinging at zombie dolphins for about 20 secs. Then coming around I realized the bed was soaked. Thought, "wtf, did I piss the bed?"

Well, no, I didn't..but I musta sweated out 5 lbs of water. Temp at 103+. Sorry flu people for me ever doubting your complaints.

Whats AARR like once you subscribe? Is it all like the free sample or are their, along with obv research reviews, other random stuff like programme templates, exercise form pointers and other non academic articles?
11-03-2009 , 03:10 PM
They are all similar to the free sample. Editorial, several research papers analyzed, another essay, usually a guest article.
