Wednesday I will start front squat. Maybe work my way up to x1@8, then do some working sets from there.

That's a good start, but you need to also back off the 3-5s and do more like 10-12. Maybe start with 8s if you're really addicted to lifting super heavy.

8 reppers? Will be cardio, but ok!

Do you follow Shane Hunt on instagram/youtube? I think you might learn a lot from this guy regarding training and stuff. Cardio/higher reps/exercise variation are desirable at some points in your training, even in a 1rm sport like powerlifting. Work capacity is important.

I only follow Pete Rubish and the Canadian Forklift Jessica Buettner.

Not that bad today, but having trouble keeping the barbell on me. My wrist started to hurt and was worried I might not bench.

Shane trains a lot like Pete used to, but a bit more hypertrophy work. He also does 2 hours of steady state ~120 hr cardio walking with a weight vest on all of his off days.

The reason your workouts are over 2 hours long when doing 3s is because your conditioning kinda sucks. Get some real cardio work in and you'll recover between sets/exercises much better. Higher reps also accomplish this purpose.

Oh I know this guy. Seen him around. Crazy endomorph physique.

Yuh, I was gassed today after those FS 8 reppers lol. I might need to start running, but I haven’t ran in like 5 years and starting again is always hard.

I’m gonna get on a real program after this year. Just been working nonstop and some days I work 12 hours and got no time for back to back days to lift. Also might adjust my schedule to free up some days, but that means hours lost…

Running is pretty tough on the joints; you could start with just fast walking, bicycling, or stairs. But some regular cardio is a good idea both for powerlifting performance and for life/health and you certainly could balance some regular running with your normal training once you work up to it.

You sure this so-called "fast walking" isn't some Yuppie fad that makes women in a 2 mile radius dry up faster than the Sahara?

(I just do slow walking...like a REAL MAN...just slow enough that I can give out a hard stare or two when needed)

Woke up with sore abs and sore quads.

I never got sore abs when I back squat. Also my quads were never sore with back squat. Mainly my inner thighs were sore when back squstting.

Might need to skip tomorrow DL, but if I recover, I will DL.

If you squat a bit too bent over, you will not effectively engage your abs. FS is also just generally a bit more core and quad focused when compared to back squatting.

Lol ^

Haven’t back squatted in almost 2 weeks. My back would spasm when I’m in bed and it was the most annoying pain ever. I haven’t had those since I stopped back squatting. Some minor pain but not the pain I used to have when I back squatted.

I took today off bc my whole body still sore from front squats. Also I haven’t paused bench in forever and those hit my arms and really sore. Will go in tomorrow refreshed.

Need to get up in 6 hours. Got the graveyard shift tomorrow.

See you soon.

Today was going to front sqaut. But the back squat was calling me. Like the old ex you can never leave. Felt really great, no back pain, but feeling a bit stiff now. So I think the front squats helped a bit. I’m getting out of the hole a bit better. Maybe I should alternate front and back or do some working sets after. Feels good.

I also have a decision to make soon. I can become a store manager if I take the assistant role for 6 months. Basically you just shadow the manager for that time and train. Then you get your own store. Basically get paid manager money for the training time. It’s big decision and not sure if I want to do it.

See you soon. Graveyard shift in a couple.

What kind of pay difference are we talking about here?

Hmm they are salaried and I’m in the city so I’m gonna guess 60-70k

And what do you make now for the same number of hours that a manager works?

Clearly manage the store, and then get an assistant position at a Buc-ees (like 100-150k) in some place that isn't a ****ing dump to live in at that pay scale.

When people want to know your salary, do you tell them what I make before tax, or after?

I wrote down what I made after tax when applying to apartments and got rejected many times. I then asked my sister and she told me I have to put down what I make before they take out the taxes.

Default is pre-tax in the US.

I'm still not clear if the salary is 60-70k or 60-70K more than what you're making now. I assumed the former until rickroll's post.

My gross pay is : 53,028 this year. I get one more pay check, so let’s just say 55,000.

That is with my pay, digital tips, paid vacation money used, etc.

If that’s the case, I think salary would be 70k in the city. But I heard rumors a a manager would make almost near double compared to a supervisor.
