I've had some lower right back problems for awhile now, probably due to using too much computer. However, with the school year starting my computer usage has been cut down substantially but for whatever reason my lower right back is still aching/hurting.

Basically I can feel it being uncomfortable and it isn't too bad but still pretty bothersome.

What can I do to make it better? Go see a chiropractor?

Better yet, post on forums with an incredibly non-specific complaint?

Ok, now that i've got that out of the system...
Start with a doctor. (i need to tell you this?).
Since the doctor will waive it off, move on to a sports orthopedist, or depending on your state and insurance coverage, a physical therapist.

Probably, by the time you get an appt, it will be better .

And rather than a chiropractor, i suggest exercise....walking preferably. Back exercises if they don't aggravate it. Don't slump. etc.

And if you think that sitting or using a computer aggravates it, DO NOT DO THAT. stand up at your computer and/or get a different chair (kneeling stool, one of those balls). It takes some getting used to, but it helps a lot.

What more do you want me to say? My lower right back constantly bothers me even with substantial less computer usage than before. Although when I do schoolwork I notice that I have bad posture while sitting as well (carried over from when I sit at the computer for long periods of time most likely) IE my spine/back is not straight, it tends to tilt to the left.

I am right handed by the way.

I also do exercise - I get enough sunshine/cardio.

Random suggestions...

How is your mattress and/or office chair?

Look at those workplace ergonomic things that tell you how far away, how high, etc your chair, monitor, keyboard etc should be.

Do this exercise once a day. Lift your feet from the floor while laying on your belly, then lift your upper buddy (with arms stretched out) 20-50 times depending on your level of fitness. It'll train your back muscles.

Also, SIT UP STRAIGHT when in front of the computer!
