I do think I need to test some vit levels next time.

I wonder how much these levels fluctuate? My diet has been complete AIDSballz since Thanksgiving. Numerous get togethers, plus my entire immediate family's B-day are in Dec. So it's a brutal stretch of nomzies.

Ofc I have ~0 self control.

Got a rare few days off of work between now and the new year, so I'm gonna bite the bullet and cleanse prior to 2017.

Lemon, pepper, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper mixed in water 3x a day for 3 days. Thoughts?

Sounds dumb.

What are you cleansing and how does cayenne pepper do it?

+1 sounds stupid

I think lemon pepper is great on fish. Maple syrup is a wonderful glaze for roasted brussel sprouts, and cayenne is great general purpose spice. I like water too.

But all together makes it seem like you're both uneducated and ignorant.

To answer truthfully I do not know.

I quit smoking cigs this year, drank a lot of alcohol, saw molly a few times, and ate bad for good portion of year.

Cleanse ingredients / time came straight from confirmed doctor.

Appeal to authority.

There are quite a few Nobel prize winners who believe in some sort of silly magical sky man mythology. That doesn't support the myth of magical sky people.

Deep as the abyss.

At least try and figure out what you want to cleanse...

it just sounds really dumb that a few random lemons, peppers, etc. for a few days is going to have some meaningful impact on your health.

lol at physicians prescribing this ****
12-28-2016 , 07:27 AM
He does it himself and suggested it to me as a friend not a patient fwiw
12-28-2016 , 07:31 AM
Why do you think he is qualified to give diet advice?
12-28-2016 , 07:47 AM
Feels like a trap, but because he is a board certified physician with a medical degree and experience?

But my thought process is....

Idk wat I am doing > dr says bingo bango > bingo bango trumps me not knowing wat I am doing > bingo Bango still sounds odd > I post asking about thoughts on bingo bango
12-28-2016 , 07:51 AM
Just do it then, bro. It won't kill you. Maybe you'll feel better (albeit hungry) for a few days because you don't chug soda and donuts and do drink enough water.

So I'm trying to get you to think through this rather than just telling you it is stupid (it is). But your problem is that you don't even know what a doctor does or what they can or cannot answer. I recently asked two doctors about a medical procedure outside their specialty. One linked me a few papers from a centralized database that synthesizes current research into best practices after telling me that he didn't know, but could look it up. (Doctoring is pretty well solved and needs basically no free wheeling, which mostly just makes quality of care worse.)

The person who you should discuss dietary issues with is a dietician. You could discuss this with a few niche nutritionists, but that would require you to vet the quality of them. (There are a handful who lecture professionally and do primary research. But I wouldn't expect you to vet each nutritionist, so instead for simple questions you can just ask a professional.)

Don't feel bad tho, people do lots of derpy things. It is basically impossible to not derp on a regular basis.

Ya, but the it'll probably cleanse away most of his humanity with the heavy metals.

Tell us what you hope to accomplish with a cleanse besides just "Doctor said so". Explain why this could help with having done bad stuff in the past that would NOT be accomplished by beginning to do good stuff now.

I think psychologically you want to believe in a "reset" or "undo" button because you're just afraid of permanently changing habits.

I actually did this cleanse 2 years ago. Only reason I really did it was because my friend (dr) was doing it and asked if I wanted to do it w him.

Cleanse wise I have no clue what it did for me. But what I do know is that it certainly changed my mind frame / happiness.

I'm in no way opposing what anyone has said, I am just seeing what health minded individuals thought about it / what they would do differently.
12-28-2016 , 09:02 AM
Ya, I would certainly be happier to eat an actual meal instead of that slurry as well.
12-28-2016 , 09:12 AM
I did cocaine once and it changed my frame/happiness.

I have the ultimate secret weapon to cleanse toxins from my body. It's called a functioning liver and kidneys.

The word "cleanse" just sounds a little dumb. You might as well call it a fast. Fasting has tons of proven benefits.

I haven't looked into this, so I can't comment on how "proven" it is, but iirc there is a fasting thread that our resident gentle giant started a few months back that may have some useful discussion.

ETA: Here

Doesn't look like they got very far into the discussion.

I find that showering at least once per day keeps me pretty cleansed. Maybe try that first?
