6/1: ???

Walking: 30 min @ 4.0/2% incline (2.0 miles)
Zottmans: 4x10x25
Lying DB Tricep Extension: 4x10x25

Quick hotel workout; bit of a cough so kept it short. Keeping things under control food wise, mostly because of the low, low calories per 100 g of my Quest bars.

No excuses, when will you post it next week?

Probably pressing on Wednesday or Thursday, depending on how my recovery from dehydration/anesthesia goes. I'll be working up to a heavy single, though, so maybe not suitable for your purposes? Should I video my AMRAP set as well (which I think should be ~145)?

6/2: 186.4

Did alright eating on the trip until the airport on the way back, where I got exhausted and had some extra Quest bars and free first class snacks and booze. Considering I both have to fast for a day and **** out all of my poo on Sunday, probably not a huge deal other than the willpower lapse.

A
Incline bench (5/3/1): wu, 140x3, 160x3, 180x1, 195x2, 210x2(*), 210x1 (9), 180x6,f, 170x7 (9), 150x10
DB Row: 6x10x95
One Arm Cable Row: 6x12

B
DB Bench: 4x6x100
Machine Rear Fly: 6x12

C
Seated DB Press: 4x8x55
DB Flyes: 4x12

Mild fatigue from travel. First 210 double was a bro spot and I have no idea to what extent he actually helped, but his hands were on the bar for both reps so it doesn't count. Retried it, but the second rep would have been a super grind and tired me out, so I passed. Pussied out in the seventh rep at 180 too - for sure could have WIMmed it up but just didn't. I'm going for 222.5 for my top single next week as punishment.

Everything else fine. Subbed in chest flyes because I heard two titans of strength and pec development (Aidan and CWS) mention them in the last day or so. Good stretch where I needed it; felt k.

SSPT DL Week 6 (85%, 60-75 s rest): wu, 8x255, 2x3x225

B
Squat (light, recovery): wu, 3x5x205
Facepull (seated, light): 8x15
Bayesian Curls: 4x12

DL solid; same cues as last week, plus working on pushing more with the quads and finishing at the top (straight up, not hyperextended). Squats fine; took a rear video as requested.

How are you liking SSPT or is it still too early to tell?

I've run it before and liked it. It's giving me time to work on my setup and clean up some of the issues that crept in and likely led to my injury.

That said, anything would be working well at these weights. I'll see how things go towards the end of this cycle in terms of how much weight to add.

6/6: 187.2

I've kind of been a bit skittish over the last week or so, but my butt scope came back clean yesterday, which was a pretty big relief. Prep wasn't too bad; went from 190ish Saturday night before bed to 182 before the procedure (Monday morning) to 189 before bed last night (thanks to some of the Serious Eats Crispy Braised Chicken Thighs with Cabbage and Bacon and about 8 oatmeal chocolate chip cookies). I assumed I'd take off lifting today, but slept a lot of the day yesterday and woke up early today, so figured why not.

OHP (5/3/1): wu, 5x115, 3x130, 1x145, 1x157.5, 1x170 (9.5) (PR), 6x145 (9.5), 6x137.5 (9-9.5), 8x122.5 (9)
NG chins: wu, 6x4x+45
DB Pullover: 4x10x80

B
DB Incline Bench: 5x8x75
Facepulls: 8x15

C
Dips: wu, 8x+25, 8x+35, 8x+45, 8x+55, 8x+65
DB Hammer: 4x10x45

OHP videos, as requested by Orangey McNoROM:

Relatively certain I never went for a 1RM at OHP when I was much fatter/slightly stronger, so this was nice. Took the 170 video from the front and then realized the weights weren't visible, then switched to side view for the 145 and they're kind of hard to see there -- whatever. Some slight knee bend on a few reps; might need to think about Soulman a bit more and clean that up, but overall I think the reps were fairly k.

Same deal with the chins: slow and full ROM, concentrating on full extension of the left elbow. Elbow feeling worked but not yet painful. DB Incline was reasonably tough but never really in doubt; last few dips at +65 were a bit of a struggle, but smooth sailing other than that.

Had an interesting conversation via text with the wifeacore in between incline and dips:

Me: Pretty sure I got an OHP 1RM PR.
Her: Husband! Should you be pushing for a PR one day after anesthesia?
Me: Results seem to say yes?

nice work on the PR! 170 is pretty good, especially at 189 BW. maybe you can hit a BW press down the road and be as ripped as G4S.

hopefully your wife responded by calling you a results oriented fish.

BN,

187, but yes, and thanks! And she told me to be careful and not poop out my colon; I told her that comes tomorrow when I squat.

rAv,

I hope so; I feel like I'd have had a chance at 175 today for sure. I'd say I'm carrying about 5 lbs of fake LBM from the last week and a half (Memorial Day festivities and then my pre-scope anxiety carb binge-athon), but I'm going to screw things down over the next week and a half, since I'm going down to the beach after that. 181-182 is about right for where my lean bulk should be starting, although whether or not that happens until I get back from New Hampshire in early July is an open question.

The montecore trying to sneak into the whiteboard.

Don't get your hopes up bro, there are fatties whose sole purpose in life is to destroy tinybro dreams. And while you technically have the bottom spot right now, they will come after you and KO you right away.

Thanks guys.

loco,

Unless I'm reading it wrong, I don't think this even makes the whiteboard, since G4S shoots to the top and knocks off Mariog's 170; I'd need to get to 185 to even show up on there at this point. Maybe there's an outside chance of that by the end of the year.

G4S does not whiteboard.

Your 170 @ 187 should take the 10 spot.

G4S has a front squat video with like 565lbs where people are walking by with jaws gaping. Obviously when he decided not to post that on the whiteboard he says 'lol humans, I am 6'2 300 20% bodyfat, is there a gorilla whiteboard'?

G4S/Mihkel/FloppyJ,

Danke.

loco,

I see that now; submitted.

My next 1s session for OHP is scheduled for the end of this month, assuming I can keep my schedule with work travel/vacation, so I may be able to hit 175 then. We shall see.
