In overall life yes, but not when youre just trying to cut. Especially mix in the fact being overweight is pretty dangerous health wise. As in weight lifting, there are things that are "better" but the best is something you can stick to

Legitimately impressed by that meal prep, nice work.

Mr.mmm, Variety and micro nutrients? I hope you are trolling and not ******ed.

Just grunched the last two pages of that stupid Dean thread and walked right into this. Beautifully played.

Thanks! I don't feel skinny yet, or that I've accomplished much lol. I just keep thinking g of all the things I'm going to do when I get around 200lbs.

It's good that your thinking positively about the future. Just take each day as it comes though. Food prep was a great start. Well done!

I think the nutritional content of those prepped meals are adequate and far from problematic at this point.

I'd suggest replacing the chicken with fish every now and then and cycling through a larger variety of vegetables than just carrots and spinach

weird how when shes just eating burgers and whatever junk no one brings up nutrients then she switches to actual nutrient dense food and this is a problem lol??

+1 to this give her a break

I think one of the untold benefits of the clean bodybuilding diet is that it helps destroy food addiction. People will say vice versa. That it will lead to binging or tilt or whatever. But I personally had the opposite come about. I lost my food addiction and I learned to love fruits and vegetables.

Now I live in a happy medium. Thanks to going clean for 8 months. It was miserable the first month but later on the body just gets use to it and you realize food has very little to do with life quality. It's energy. It's gasoline. Can't overflow the tank.

It's not because of no one criticizing her eating fast food, I'm not even sure if this true. That a diet consisting only of chicken carrots and spinach should be free of criticism.

I claim that a diet of chicken, fish and and any sort of vegetable would be healthier and have better compliance because eating the same thing every time is boring.

But, if this diet keeps her away from fast food, it's a huge improvement health wise. And additional health improvements by increasing variety are tiny in comparison

I personally think both approaches suck, but time will tell. A diet based on bland sauteed chicken breast and carrots/spinach/green beans seems like punishment to me. I'd associate it with being punished and not enjoying life, and I doubt it's a diet I'd stick to for very long. Varying the bland chicken with some bland fish and adding a few more bland pre-cooked vegetables to the mix might improve it slightly, but it's still punishment.

Whoever designs a diet for MLYLT should start by asking her what sort of foods she likes, and proceed to make compromises that allow her to eat those foods as often as possible while remaining in a large calorie deficit. Compliance is key, the number one factor. It's more important than macros, more important than micros. Changes to that diet that reduce the fast carbs, increase the protein, increase the micronutrients and fiber, etc., could then be applied gradually. But none of those things are even remotely as important as sticking to a program, any program. Losing 100 pounds will improve her health far more than getting adequate micros and eating clean.

I couldn't disagree more. Maybe this is a concept that one has to come by in order to become competition lean, but for the rest of us, food is a pretty big part of what makes life worth living. There's certainly a difference between enjoying something and being addicted to it though.
