Seems doable but keep in mind, it'll only look nice like that for a month or so. Once it's exposed to sun and water it'll turn gray. How well it holds up will depend on what you make it out of and how you finish it.

The sticking point for most people in regards to woodworking is getting their raw materials flat and square. You can sometimes find wood suppliers who will do all or part of this for you, for a price.

To do it yourself you need:
a jointer
a planer
a table saw
(or if you're pretty skilled you can get by with less and use some hand tools)

Really you can make an awwwful lot of stuff with just the above and a few hand tools. I use each of these almost every time I make anything and couldn't get by without them.

A+ OP

I liked the first spiderman, the rest were pretty awful. Also "liked" means it was tolerable largely because I loved spiderman as a kid and the movie wasn't completely awful.

New Yankee Workshop and David Mark's show "Wood Works" are both good intros to WW and will show you the basic work flow for making any piece of furniture. NYW is a little more rough and WW is a little more polished.

Lol

Spider-Man 2 was good. It holds up. Spider-Man 1 at least made sense.

There are some really good Spider-Man action scenes and humor in this latest Amazing, but you should skip the movie and watch the clips on YouTube.

I have never really gotten into the Spider Man franchise. I think I saw the first one with Toby Maguire and that is it.

I actually just saw Man of Steel last night at home. I thought it was pretty good. Action sequences were done good IMO and I am pretty sure that dude playing Superman fits into the swoll club.

Currently having an allergic reaction to Lebanese food I had for lunch. Breaking out all over. Hopefully I die. I don't want to live without Lebanese food.

DFII,

That looks quite simple, probably a decent place to start from.

As far as woodworking power tools go, in Makita and DeWalt I trust.

Although every now and then a MAN just needs to build something using nothing but hand tools, imo.

I don't think he needs a planer for this. Just need to be very selective when picking out wood. I never used a planer when building picnic tables but I also had about a 1/8'' gap between each board so things didn't need to be perfectly straight.

But yes that does look like a cool project. It's not complicated at all. And if you stain and seal it, it won't turn gray too quickly. I would probably sand/stain/seal it each year and it will look great

Just got word back finally. Insurance approved the next surgery. I'm authorized for the meniscus transplant now!

Unfortunately afterwards that means at least 2 months on crutches with no weight on foot at all :s

Srsly might die. Gg.

dadude - awesome! Obv surgeries suck in general but it really seems like you're heading down a much better path than it seems might be available iirc a few months ago.

In an Indian restaurant, watching like 6 Indian dudes with their heads down eating, while watching cricket on one of their phones

crash,

Just tell her the truth. That you love him enough to buy extra food for him to ride along on the gravy train with everyone else but you don't love him enough to prepare an entire separate meal plan for him.

Good life lesson for both of them.

yeah previous was that, I'll never run or do anything but walk/bike (not even uphills), and have to wear a brace constantly.

I think I should be almost able to do anything afterwards, although I think I'll still retire from basketball . Don't wanna risk anything if I'm able to get healthy.

Weird idea to have a dead persons cartilage in you though

I didn't go to work today. Didn't tell anyone neither.

Now might die.

I was in Boston taking care of visa stuff. I also wanted to shop for eyeglasses. There's a bunch of eyeglasses stores in Brookline, which also has my favorite Lebanese place.

After lunch I just sat in a Starbucks pounding water and hating life. I've got these huge boils on my arm. This sucks.

My work was blocking most of the pics for some reason, all I saw was the finished version. I had assumed it was mortise and tenon joinery or something similar, and you want at least the joined faces flat for that. But yeah, it looks like it's more on the picnic table level of joinery so just picking flat straight lumber would probably be fine.
