Lost my weight, but why do I still have a gut? Lost my weight, but why do I still have a gut?

OK, so I've lost like 30 pounds or so from my peak of 182, and I'm now down to like 152.5 or so. (But that was when I went to doctor's in early morning with no breakfast, so it may be skewed like 5 pounds or so.) Anyways, I still have a small to medium gut. And it gets bigger whenever I eat lunch/dinner, etc. How do I make it so that I'm completely gut free?

BTW, I lost my weight mainly through diet. I used to eat a lot whenever and I reduced it a lot and ate at only specific times. I exercised a little bit but i'm lazy as hell so prolly only for like streches of weeks and quit and start up again.

So how do I lose the gut?

lose more weight?

most people severly underestimate how much fat they will need to lose in order to get the body they want...so most people think that if they lose 30lbs they will have a six pack, but its usually closer to 40lbs...

you could also just be skinny fat and not have any muscle...

Ever look at films of countries with starving people? All those skinny people have guts. Being light is not sufficient for having a six pack. You must exercise.

getting a 6 pack isn't easy. you either need to be very muscular or very skinny or genetically gifted, otherwise you're gonna have a gut of some sort.

and, you've probably got a major case of skinny fat going on.

Lose more fat. Exercise good and efficiently; Here's a demonstration of a very good crunch, do them straight and cross. Also combine them with small sit-ups with your leggs at 90° in the air (as well straight and crossed). Also, do them untill you fail.

I never said I wanted a 6 pack. I just don't want a gut. How is that both the same thing? I mean I realize that a really small gut is there in everyone, but that's basically what I want.

I just looked up skinny fat and it says you can eat all kinds of food and you won't grow fat, but you're still as unhealthy as a fat person. How is that me? If I eat all that I can eat, I'll grow fat. So is there another definition of skinny fat?

And no, I don't have any muscle so that's means I'm skinny fat?

Skinny fat means you have body fat on a small frame.

Your problem is that the weight you lost was muscle & fat. You want to lose fat only.

crunches wont get rid of belly fat, they'll just strengthen the muscles beneath the fat. cardio (especially hiit) is probably a better way to go.

what do you think a 6 pack is? its ab muscles with no fat on them. a 6 pack and no gut are, basically, the same thing.

and, an explanation of skinny fat. when you lose weight, and you don't exercise, and you eat junky food, then you tend to lose more muscle than you should, and lose less fat than you could've. so even though you now weigh less, your body fat % is still pretty high. so to fix this, either lose more weight, or start eating better and gain muscle, or both.
