hip(?) pain during squats

ok, so starting maybe 2-3 squattings ago, i started to get a significant pain in my right hip. at first i thought it was my groin muscle, but i'm not really sure its a muscle now. Its not a sharp or sudden pain, it just kinda gets worse as i squat. I feel it toward the end of my squat when i'm standing straight. The faster i stand the more it gets aggravated. doing heavy squats, if i stand fast it wouldn't hurt so bad that i couldn't do it, but 1 notch below that, such that I just kinda stand up tenderly. when i'm not lifting it doesn't really bother me but doing a fast air squat or quickly raising my leg like a knee lift would hurt a little, especially in the day of/after squatting.
the best idea i can tell is that maybe its a tendon or something. In the week before it started, i moved up very quickly. I farted around at lower weights in my squats because I was worried about my form/back, but now i'm confident in it so I moved up 20 pounds in 4 days. Honestly, I feel like my current weight is light, and I should move up another 10-20 in the next week, but i've kinda been stalled here obv.
Does my tendon theory sound reasonable? Has anyone heard of this or do you know of anything I can do to help it or at least figure out whats hurting? I'm normally bad about warmup and stretching, but now i've done a variety of stretches, and can't really seem to find a muscle to stretch that helps it, leading me toward thinking its a joint thing. also, do you think i should keep squatting if i can manage it, or take time off. I would say a heavy squat is most definitely doable for me, its just pretty annoying and I have to stand up carefully. i also feel like, if i dropped down and did light squats for a while, i'd still get most of the hip aggravation, yet little of the muscle building, so why bother.
i dunno, this is too long now, but anything anyone wants to add would be appreciated.

I have no idea, I'm not a doctor. When I have an injury, I take some time off. If it doesn't improve, I see a doctor.

download an image of the hip, and mspaint where it hurts. I suspect you have the same thing I get form time to time, and I believe it is caused from my knees moving forward at the bottom of the squat. That slacks the hammies and pulls the quad forward I believe, which hurts the tendon at the front of the hip.
It hurts me like right where the hip crease forms at the bottom of a squat.

I've gotten this after high volume squatting. I stretch out my quads and hips a LOT afterwards and it helps and usually goes away. I actually had this the past 2 days but it's gone now. Often it's the top of the quad right where it meats the lower abs to the right or left of the groin.
here are some stretches that might help:
quad stretches: foot of quad to butt standing on one leg
hip: hip circles, glute bridges, and the best for inner hips for me is where you standing with a barbell on your backwith a wide stance and grip on the barbell and shift your weight from from side to side, big stretch
not sure if any of those will help but they've helped me
you might find if you work on mobility and make sure you are warmed up before your squats it will help a great deal

It sounds to me like you may have strained your hip flexor. I have done this before and it is painful. It took close to a month before I was fully healed without pain. If you are squatting through the pain, you can easily injure yourself further and make the healing process a lot longer. My advice is to you is rest and ice for at least week. If you can, go see a physical therapist. When you try squatting again, be sure to warm-up for at least 20 min on a bike, treadmill or elliptical etc. Get a good sweat going, then stretch and start out with light weight and sets of 15-20 reps.
