Why do you need to bring a towel to the gym? Just use the ones that the gym provides. This ain't Nam.

Yeah pretty much. I wear socks though. I definitely don't bring a towel. I don't even sweat. Hat probably about 80% of the time. I am not fixing my hair for the gym. Lol. No hat when I do cardio because I sweat a little and my hats get stinky. Hat has to be cleanish. Hat has to go backwards for military press.

Etc etc

Hats are legit. You know most countries when you go to the bank you have to take your hat off? That's because they can't take a good picture. Also, facial recognition software has problems with hats. You know why the Boston bombers got recognized? Idiot had his hat backwards.

I probably have over 50 of them. Sweet. I like trucker hats and brewing companies. I even have one that says "loco" on it. Buddy found it somewhere in Latin America and got it for me.

I don't know whether it is just an observation that I have picked up on but I've been going to my gym for awhile and it seems it is just the newbies that don't bother with the towel.

Went to the gym tonight and saw a guy (possibly new years resolution dude) doing the dumbest work out ever.

He was doing 3 reps of every machine in the gym. He is sweating like a pig with his towel on the floor the whole time and then in his last 10 mins he rolls up his sleeves and starts flexing in the mirror.

I was praying for him to slip a disc.

Though the effect is partially from placebo, it’s well established that increased confidence does in fact increase strength. And there is the other part that absolutely isn’t placebo but is in fact truth. A person’s kinesthetic awareness can only take them so far. Ultimately, you need to be able to observe your muscles functioning for you to be able to properly activate them or perform minor form corrections mid-set. The only thing that even these “bros” sometimes get wrong is that they often place their spine in a risky, potentially injurious position by looking at the mirror straight on. The correct stance for any lift is perpendicular to the mirror, head turned to see yourself from the side.

My gym actually has sky light-lamps things that look like a normal ceiling fixture during the day. I didn't even know they let daylight in for the first year of membership.

i've been seeing these two ladies on the bike (the one where you are basically sitting down only "working" your legs). anyways same routine every week just stroll along and talk to each other about nothing. no big deal, its a hotel gym, not many people are there to actually work. sad that they aren't gonna make progress and still be overweight but hey let them enjoy the time and converse who am I to say ****.

anyways, today I am on the rowing maching warming up behind them and I'm listening to them talk about how they hate this time of year cause all the new signups and how it'll be a few weeks before the "undedicated" quit. I was so tempted to speak up.

in good news, say a newish guy, middle aged overweight been at the gym the past two sundays and he's been going hard. very impressive chatted him up about the football game on and really trying to make the atmosphere welcoming.

also been nice as the slightly overweight could be hot if they stick with it for a few months chicks start showing up. feel like i should see whose got the best chance of panning out and buy low.
