I specifically mentioned herpes because (IIRC) it can be spread by skin to skin contact without sexual contact.

Saunas are probably more common in Finland (~2m saunas with ~5m population) than any other country and it's considered really big faux pas (cool saying I just googled!) to wear clothes/towels in sauna. Yet I've never really heard of anyone getting STD or any other disease from sitting on a bench of (public) sauna.

Worrying about something like that sounds absolutely ridiculous to me at least. Especially when same people worrying about that stuff probably have no problem shaking hands, which I'd imagine is hundreds of times more dangerous practice.

Anal sex is probably more common amongst gay people and it's considered really big faux pas (cool saying I just googled!) to wear a condom when you go inside.
Yet I've never really heard of anyone getting STD or any other disease from putting your pen1s inside an other man's butthole.

Worrying about something like that sounds absolutely ridiculous to me at least.

I prefer to lift barefoot but only in Asia can you get away with this it seems.

To much H&S everywhere else my trainers wont do ***** if I drop a weight on them anyways except maybe I will trip over the laces.

Fairly soon we will be wearing steel toes in the gym GTFO!!!

Barefoot (well, with socks) is fine in Broway too. Prefer it for DLing.

Saw a super intense guy yesterday squatting next to me wearing some kind of sock-shoe variant I've never seen before. The only way I can describe is they were like ankle socks but with a super thin sole. Seemed as close to barefoot as you could really get since the sole seemed much thinner than any minimalist shoe or vibram-type.

His routine was also awesome. Stand 10 feet from bar, staring at it intensely. take 3 fast steps up to bar, slam his left hand into position get it set and then slam his right. Jerk his hole body as fast as possible under the bar and grunt really loudly before lifting the weight off. I was impressed with his dedication. He did this for every warmup set (starting at 95) all the way up to 345.

The chance of getting it from a toilet seat is usually rated as "extremely unlikely" and the only reason doctors don't say "lol, no" is that there *could* potentially be some remote chance. If it's not likely from a toilet seat, which every person sits their ass right on (what *******s! other people have to sit there, you know!) then it's not even remotely likely from a bench. Herpes requires not only skin to skin contact, but specifically mucous membrane contact.

And anyway, if YOU don't sit your bare as on a bench, what other guys don't can't actually even effect you. If you're sitting on a towel, it can't possibly matter that some other guy sat his bare ass on a bench.

Confirmed. No shoes no shirt no shame = standard here. Or jeans with belt and no shirt.

On some days you can also see women walking on treadmill with high heels (I really see this several times a year), and walking backwards on the treadmill with a lot of arm action is a daily GGO

is it standard at your gyms to have bros spend 20 mins in the locker room looking at the mirror with their shirt off checking themselves out and fixing their hair? I see this all the time thinking their done with their workout, but its always "before" their workout.

Hmm not really, my previous gym had a lot of those asian hipsters with dragonballz hair yeah, but my current one is pretty casual. China casual that is of course. I still see several Chinese men every day in the locker room with 1 foot on a bench and drying their wet ballsack with the hairdryer. Like I said, literally no shame.

Yep. It lifts the bar up off the delts, forcing the weight to be carried higher on the back (making it far less stable in the process).

Same here. While I don't do it often, I never had a problem when I had to.

ok so strength is basically completely useless when it comes to strength endurance?

felt nauseated during our soccer strength endurance drills and my advantage in comparison to non-lifters was minimal, surprised me a bit

what exactly were the drills? You felt "nauseated" has me think it was more your poor cardio affecting you then your actual muscles failing you.
