ok, lulz, im sick and watched the rest of it...

The rest of it he is just calling out the body part he is "working", with "agora!" thrown in here and there, which is just "now!".

braço - arms (also calls out "beeceps", go figure...)
costa - i thought this was actually "ribs", but I'm guessing "back"
abdominals - hrmmmm?
peito - chest. (fittingly enough, peitos is also "tits" for chicks...)

He finished off by saying something like:

Do this 30 times per day <for it to> work

Wow at Brazilian guy

What's with bros' obsession with chesticles? Do they give each other titjobs after they workout?

And to think all the time I've wasted by doing squats, bench presses, deadlifts, presses, and rows.

Yesterday there was a woman in zipped up jacket, jeans, and a full headscarf, doing 2.0mph on the treadmill, reading her pink bejeweled blackberry.

I have a feeling I narrowly missed out on what would have been the undisputed champion of this thread...

When I got to the gym today I found the squat rack with a loaded bar on the top pins (funnier because the pussy pad on this bar is un-removable and litteraly 3 or 4 inches thick), a loaded ez-curl bar resting on the saftey pins and a swiss ball sitting in the middle...

that would have been sick!!

I've seen a similiar scenario. Some dude was squatting (225 lbs?) on a swiss ball. After he finished a set a couple of random bros came over for some high fives

weighted pushups are not stupid, but you do need to place the bar near your low back so your scapula don't move the plate all around.

oh yes i'm not discounting weighted pushups as a bro workout. their form was great without the plate, but once the plate was on, their back arched in an awkward position, making the exercise look completely off balance and risk of injury.

It would have never occurred to me to do a weighted pushup with a bar.

weighted push ups are the nuts imo. i disagree with tbk about where to put the plates though. i find that if you get on all fours(hands and knees) and squeeze your shoulder blades together you can put a 45 pound plate to where the edge of the plate is almost touching your head if you pulled your head back(i guess the base of the neck).

i've done sets with 3 plates and never had any problems with the plates moving, of course nothing wrong with having someone there to make sure they stay in place either. i know of a couple raw powerlifters who bench over 400 weighing in the low 200s or maybe even less, that credit much of their success to heavy weighted push ups. i've seen some guy on youtube do like 8 plates for reps and he benches 500 plus and i think he does the push ups as much or more than actually benching.

kpc - I've been doing some pushups with a band around my back. What's your opinion on that vs weighted pushups?

It's a different exercise, as the resistance is not constant. It is, however, fine.

any pressing exercise with bands obv overloads lockout, so if you need a stronger lockout, it might not be a bad idea to add some bands, don't go apes**t with them though, a little goes a long way imo. its really helped my pressing when my progress has stalled.

I do them wit the edge of the plate pinched between my shoulders so that it stands vertically and I look like a human/dinasour experiment gone wrong. I growl at anyone that looks at me.

I actually walk around like this as a mobility drill.

I just let my kids lay on my back while I do them. They stay attached pretty well and come in 30 and 40lb sizes. I'm not quite ready to add the wife yet.

1. My form isn't normally that bad.
2. If I were planning to keep doing squats like that I'd agree, my main goal is to improve my form and I worry that a belt will hinder that goal.

He got really frustrated but said if I want to ruin my back it's my problem. He seemed like an alright guy, I actually feel like a dick now for not just wearing the belt.
If you have an inguinal (groin area) pre-hernia like I do, wearing a belt squeezes the gut and back and puts tons more pressure on the surrounding areas. I have a strong back (relative to my legs) and am willing to risk pulling it.

dude who outweighs me by 75+ lbs. and is always training ppl (yet he isn't a trainer)tells some old guy "we're doing 5 set of 20 squats" while I warming up in the power rack next to them. Old guy proceeds to do 5x20 1/4 squats w/ just the bar while the "trainer" does 20xbar/95/115/135/135 of the half-squat variety w/ a pussy pad.

After each set he gives out a Ric Flair "woooooooooooooo" and looks around like he's a badass while a dude half his size is squatting a lot more weight than he is w/ much better depth.

oh and Claunchy, that 330lb bar is still there today, that's 72 hours and counting
