A couple guys obviously stronger than I am come up to the squat racks and start knocking out sets where there arms are completely parallel to the ground, are going through the holes in the weigts that act as handles and they are clinching weights together.Basically, they had a Jesus on the cross look at address.

Is this a thing?

So they were squatting with hands holding the plates? Inflexible big guys do that.

Basically, yeah.

They were late 20s and not all that big so I doubt it's a flexibility issue but I guess if big strong dudes do it it's likely to be a monkey see monkey do sort of deal. It just seemed so weird.

So some idiot at my gym decides to use a bag of climbing chalk to get a bit more grip for some heavy singles deadlifting. Squeezes the ball (oooh err) and all that pent up deadlift aggression comes out and the bag pops. Chalk goes ****ing everywhere.

Plot twist (or not) - it was me.

I seen a guy at the gym the other day load up a plate on the bench press and then put on the clips. Seems normal so far aside from his 3 inch range of motion. Then he adds more weight WITHOUT taking off the clips. So there is a plate on the inside of the clip and then the outside. WTF?

I guess he just got lazy

I do that with deadlifts sometimes. Feel lazy every time.

I just do the ultimate lazy thing and not use clips but not cause I'm lazy

Do more clips go over the weight over the clips? I don't like this at all. It's madness.

Bonus points if clips are in short supply in your gym.

Seen Olympic lifters do this with heavy squats and jerks to get people used to the whip of the barbell during the lifts.

I've only done it on squats out of laziness. I've also sandwiched 2.5s & 5s in between bigger plates on all sorts of lifts.

There was a time when I wouldn't go near a barbell if it didn't have clips on it... now I can't remember the last time I used clips. I'm playing loose and fast and I don't even care. I need an intervention.

Been doing frontsquats today, while a heavily tattooed, slightly fat guy was doing his workout, together with his seriously hot and younger gf. I've seen her(/them) few weeks ago already, also together with him, and we shortly talked, since she also wanted to use the only rack we have to squat.
After she finished her RDL next to the rack today, she left the weight for her bf, and he did some neckpress with that 30kg bar for one or two sets, and then proceeds to place the bar into the bottom of the squatrack, while I was obv still using it.
Dude has most likely never done any squats, so I gave him the benfit of doubt, and single-handedly high-pulled his BB over the end of the rack, while simutaneously asking him "ey, why don't you use the decline bench to dump that?", and he didn't even looked me in the eyes while mumbling a "sorry, didnt see", while I placed his bar on the dec-bench for him...

Am still unsure if he didnt realize that it disturbs, even when unracking for FS there, or if he intentionally tried to **** with me... he was cool, or at least non-offensive, whenever I saw him before, and I absolutely didnt stare at his gf's nice ass when she did her DLs today.

The guy placed his bar in the lower end of the squat-rack, while my loaded bar was still in it, a meter higher in the rack, as well as my towel around the front of the rack. He could have placed his bar anywhere else, but decided to put it under my loaded bar, which ofc unables me to unrack my weight.

I saw this guy and I marked him for a douche from appearance alone, as he was working out in a button-down shirt, cargo shorts, sandals, and sunglasses indoors. Then throughout my squat warm-up I felt kind of bad about it. Maybe he's just oblivious. Maybe it's his first time working out? Then, of course, my bias gets confirmed.
