I would say though that Gatorade is really high in sugar. I drink it on really intense workout days. You should limit it to this depending on your diet and how much you workout.

Gatorade has electrolytes, which don't get depleted very rapidly when you're not achieving pumps at the gym. High concentrations of electrolytes in your body contribute to high blood pressure.

Also, Gatorade turns your sweat into cool colors, which is useless if you're just sitting around and not sweating.

For someone like me who has a physical job and sweats buckets (I can drink an half gallon of gatorade in a 6 hour shift during the summer and not piss once), I think its superior to water for electrolyte replacment. For running on the treadmill for 30 minutes, not so much. Granted, I have no hard data and very little knowledge to back up this statement.

Water is not really a source of electrolytes. Unless you add salt.

Gatorade marketing is genius. Everybody that does not bother reading the nutritional facts (95% of people) thinks it's good for them.

By the way, you don't have to be sweaty and holding a basketball to enjoy a Gatorade. You could just be a thirsty dude. Gatorade forgets about this demographic. I'm thirsty for absolutely no reason. Other than the fact that liquid has not touched my lips for some time. Can I have a Gatorade too, or does that lightning bolt mean "No"?

I was thinking the same thing when reading the comments about Electrolytes.

Overall, Gatorade is not something you should drink if health is a concern. Gatorade is owned by PepsiCo, which should throw up a flag all on its' own, but besides that, Gatorade is high in sugar, about 14G per serving, each bottle having 2.5 servings, roughly 28G of sugar per drink. Also, Gatorade contains brominated vegetable oil, which is used in Flame ******ant.

Goddamn brah, 28Gs? I need a g-suit next time i'm drinking gatorade.

Also, their 2009 marketing campaign is the reason typing "g" into google no longer brings up GMail. **** those guys.

Lol. One 12oz serving of gatorade has 78 calories. Basically half of a regular soda. And less calories than an orange, banana, or apple.

Let me guess, the fiber in those fruit will save us??? Or the vitaminC??

Lol. We shouldn't drink gatorade if health is a concern?? Idiot.

haha are you serious!? Must be a calorie head. "Dudes, dudes, it's all good, look it only has 78 calories per serving! Who cares about the amount of sugar and sodium! It's all about them calories!"

Also, I should make mention that it's not even real sugar. But I have a feeling you will come back and say that HFCS is good for you.

I totally agree. Enough of that processed crap. Only water (or vitamin waters) and juice for me. Health comes before corportions and their marketing, sorry loco.

I agree that the lack of calories in Gatorade is a concern. I like to add a little bit of mayo and turn it into a bit of a mayo/Gatorade smoothie, get some fat in there for keto purposes. I'm sure loco agrees with me that you can never have too much mayo in your diet

PepsiCo also owns Naked Juice, Quaker Oats, and Aquafina. Should we be concerned about those as well?

You obviously have to balance it out with some kale (superfood, brah), but I like where your head's at.
