So basically you add olive oil.

If OP made the exact same post on other health and fitness forums, I do not think people would be suggesting bacon and fast food. That was my original observation. No more, no less. I notice most of the suggestions the last couple pages have been more consistent with what one would expect to see, so maybe the first few posts were just people joking around.

These are the best things ever, and if you get them on special only $1 each for 15g of protein, heaps of different flavours - the curry ones are great.

Another good tuna option is to get a large 500g tin of tuna, tin of beans and jar of salsa, mix it all up, season to taste and there is 3 quick meals for under $5.

I found a nice recipe for Tuna Melt Patties somewhere, kinda similar to the one posted on BB.com. Hope I can dig it up. Very tasty. Whole can had like 75g of protein in it. Can't beat that for one meal.

I always find the debate of "junk food" like bacon interesting. pretty sure i lost a friend over this debate recently. she is 90s skinny and trying to get MORE SKINNY eww. anyway, she tried to tell me to cut out beef and bacon, eat more greens (even though i told her I'm building strength).

she went on to talk about how she's constantly in pain and discomfort, how her trainer is "kicking her ass." I told her "hmm my recovery time is pretty fast, at best i'll feel fatigued with a bit of soreness for a day after a workout?" she refused to believe the bacon, beef and chicken contribute to muscle building and recovery.

Whatever happened to eating whatever you wanted without counting calories or worrying about fat content? It seems like the more food conscious we have become in the US, the fatter we have become.

I was talking to a friend about how in the 1960's-1970's we used to eat what many would consider horribly by many nutritionists standards. Bacon, eggs, fatty cuts of steak, pot roasts, pork chops, sausage were ubiquitious and eaten in abundance. Yet, very few people were fat.

It's not like you personally can't stand to be on a deficit, being pretty overweight and a beginner novice. And of course, greens are good for you (which I assume you agree with as a matter of course).

Also recovery will get harder But of course food intake matters.

people can lift heavy and look "in shape" but still have visceral fat, and type 2 diabetes

lol pls cite people who aren't taking roids and have substantial visceral fat with low overall bf%s

Everything I've read on the subject doesn't even address visceral fat for natural trainees because its lol easy to lose.

oh yeah i won't argue with "greens are good." my friend basically said i should cut out red meats altogether. i suppose it can be done by eating stuff like tuna, pork and chicken, but her tone suggested "nothin' but greens." as we're both novices she suggested her pain is an indicator she's working harder. To me that's a combo of any the following: she's not warming up properly, not stretching properly, not eating properly, not completeing the exercises properly...the list goes on.

she suggested a 1500 cal intake for me =O 3500 is hard enough!

TheCroShow, the problem is that you are talking to a woman about exercise/nutrition. I'd rather be shot out of a cannon into an oncoming train than ever talk to one of them about this stuff again.

Changing his diet for the better is probably hard enough already. And I doubt he'd make much progress on SS doing 1500.

True enough. Having a hudge guy starve himself seems like a recipe for non-compliance though.

Yeah. Eating as little as he can possibly stand would be >>> all other goals. When you have massive health issues everything else just kinda... becomes less important. Hard to sqat when ded.

I know a girl that lost >100lb in under 6 months by basically doing this. There is something to be said for just setting your goal and doing it. That said, in Cro's case he is likely better off slowly working his way down. If he can eat at 3500 for a week or 2 then try 3000, then 2500 and honestly that should be low enough to see great results for quite a while. If you can stick to that and lose 2.5 lb/week for a year thats 130 pounds, not too shabby.
