Today I learned that maybe the deadlift is >>>> bench.

I like to bench press. I look forward to it and I think I can get 315 in 18 months.

Deadlift is okay. But my hands are really small and its almost impossible for me to reach all the way down to the bar and keep my back perfect. If I pulled off 2" blocks that would solve the whole problem.

But anyways at Cha/Weasels meet I showed up during the bench. I was pumped up because a few guys were lifting less than me. It was great to see the form and some dudes get 400+. But you know what, it got boring pretty fast. It's not an exciting lift.

The deadlift? That's a different story. Everybody gets pumped bout da deadlift!!! Weasel has a sick routine were he just gets in the zone. The guy comes alive for the lift. During bench he just kept talking about beer. And I noticed this with a lot of other guys also. Intensity was crazy for deadlift. People warming up with 5 plates. Plates about to shatter in warmups. Lifters turning beet red during max attempts. Knees getting shaky. Backs starting to round!! Some 198lber hitting 700!! Sick!!!!
I wanted to go deadlift myself and show these guys how to make 3plates fly!!!!

The guy who deadlifted 699 at 198 squatted 313 or something like that. He totaled mid 13 hundreds with a 700 lb deadlift

He seemed to be normally proportioned. Didn't see him squat so not sure how hard the 313 was for him

I am back on high volume. I lost some motivation after I came in at 167 9% bodyfat, twice bodpod verified. But since that was not believable, I am back on the grind.

I have been eating 3500 on workout days and 2700 on nonworkout days. Have settled in at 167.

However I am now ditching the strength training for 8weeks. Going to do a more traditional bodybuilding routine similar to what I used in my first log. Basically taking the large compound movements up to 8-10 reps. Except might move deadlift to 5-8 reps. Depends on how tight I can keep.

I made decent gains on the strength/bodybuilding routine and will be reviewing the results later this week with a tale of the tape. The tale of the tape will certainly show that I am not sub10%, I chunked up some. After the bodybuilding 8weeks a small cut and then Texas Method#2 here I come. After that I should officially be out of the babyweights Montecore/Soulman/fakebusto/Yugo territory and into quickly approaching 1000pound total territory. And possibly do a Meet next year at 165.

You wish. Probably lose all gains during your 8-week cut. Save yourself some time and console yourself with five servings of bread pudding

At least I'm first on the list; which of Yugo or fakebusto should be last is a tough one, but I like how you've got it slotted so far.

I love the inadvertent self rustle as you slot yourself in as weaker than Yugo

Naw brah Yugo needs the encouragement, no rustling for a humble gentleman and scholar. Not sure what to do for you.

Dafuq? What happened to strength and mass?

btw, I'm not on the list.

Although... it could be that I'm not even worthy of making that list.

Mass should keep on coming. Taking my new strength gains into account, I should be doing this in a few weeks

Deadlift 225 4x10
Bench 185 4x10
Squat 185 4x10

That volume is going to create dem muscles, flush the tendons and joints with lots of blood, and in general give me a needed break from the low reps. I then come back with a vengeance and crush the 5reppers with improved muscle size and cardiovascular health.

I have been on 6months of 5reppers for the main lift. Gains were still coming, but I was getting stale and bored.

Seems like you have it figured out.

I would bet a lot of money against 4x10x185 on bench in "a few weeks" if you keep the rest to 2 minutes in between sets.
