well, for example i'm 5'7 and weigh between 147-150 lbs. i'm a student and pokerplayer so i sit a lot but i also walk a decent amount to and from classes and ive started to do pushups/crunches and go to the gym a little.

i don't feel like i'm over eating, but i could be.

today i had a grilled chicken breast + rice + 5 baby carrots at 11ish

12ish i ran 2 miles on the treadmill and then used a couple of the weight machines

i had a bowl of multigrain cheerios w/o milk a little later

later i had another grilled chicken breast but just with 5 baby carrots

had an apple at some pt

and last meal i had another grilled chicken breast(lol is this too much protein?) with carrots again

on top of that ive been snacking on almonds throughout the day

sorry if that got too bloggish

edit: i don't normally have 3 things like grilled chicken in a day but i guess i was more hungry because of working out

I eat almond and a smattering of other nuts along with some dried fruit as a snack routinely.

A lot of people on this board will advise a gram of protein per pound of lean body weight. I've been tracking my diet since the start of September and have never reached that number. It's pretty hard to do without supplements. So eat protein to your heart's content basically.

Its pretty easy to reach 1g prot/lbs clean mass. And 1 g prot/lbs overall mass should be rather easy too, without supps, unless one is really fat, but thats why we are supposed to aim for 1g prot/lbs fat free mass.

is this for people trying to get big or for everyone? I'm just trying to slim down a little but also want to get a little stronger. also how would one figure out how many pounds of lean body weight they have?

% bodyfat?

Any reason why you are not currently going to the gym and doing a proper weight training programme?

You basically can't eat too much protein. As for the almonds don't worry about it you could eat bowls of the stuff.
