Diet/workout? Diet/workout?

Hey, H&F! Here's the scoop. I'm 6'2 and 180, I'm out of shape (I just ran a mile today and barely made it) and my diet is HORRIBLE. I've decided to completely cut off any fast food and I need a good workout and diet to help get in shape + lose weight (healthily.) I don't want to go about this wrong and eat poorly, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have access to a gym (community college has a very nice gym readily available for any currently enrolled students) and as far as money goes, I'm pretty much good to buy anything that I'd need to buy (food wise.)

Thanks a bunch!

p.s. I know this is a very broad thing that I'm asking, but I don't know where to start, I've looked at websites, etc. but they all just seem confusing... just looking for a spot to start and work from there!

Somewhere along the lines of weak/weak-tight. I'm trying to change up my style, though, to rack in tha l00t.

But seriously, as far as strength goes, not too strong. Go me! /sarcasm.
