Not really. I looks too hard. It's ok if there is a "suggestion of abs" though.

I think the Victoria's Secret model on the left is almost a little too much in abs definition. The belly button thing of the middle one is VERY weird indeed.

How do you cope with that? IPod doesn't really help when they are all around you and the place is packed with mirrors. I don't have an alternative gym to go to. I very close to cancelling my subscription and just doing kettlebell stuff at home. My problem is: I can't try to focus on enjoying the process of lifting there, because the circumstances of the process are a huge pile of ****.

245lb hang clean:

255lb FAIL:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L4t7BgsPkY

Ok so I didn't commit, pulled way too high, and didn't drop my hips to get under it. Next thing I know I'm curled up around a heavy bar and then I'm flat on my back.

Can someone tell me why I tried for a PR today after doing 6x3x315lb on squats yesterday?

oh it's because I'm stubborn. I mean I have a bit more in the tank and should've made it, but I need to fix my form and get solid in the bottom.

great videos - you're a strong dude. you should be able to handle that 255 when you're fresh.
12-11-2008 , 07:12 PM
:04 to :07 would be a great gif

very nice job on the 245 though
12-11-2008 , 07:13 PM
haha that's happened to me so many times.
12-11-2008 , 07:31 PM
Haha both of them are sweet!
12-11-2008 , 07:44 PM
Nice lifts. And that is some sweet failing in the second one.
12-11-2008 , 07:45 PM
yeah

very nice back motion and hip drive on the pulls there, good form

what's the most you can squat up with a pause and not get trapped at the bottom?
12-11-2008 , 07:57 PM
aj,
I'd guess 285+. I've done 315x2 on front squat without much bounce. When I FS I have no problem getting my hips low and my back tight, but I'm still hesitant to do it on cleans, which is dumb and something I need to work on. I'm way more comfortable with the hang power versions and did 5x3x225lb a couple days ago.

BEAST! That's ****ing rad dude.

continuing with pga references, i have a hard time controlling my backspin, i tend to get enough loft but there are times i overshoot the green causing collateral furniture damage.

Girls who lift a lot often look fantastic until they tense up, especially their legs and ass and lower back. It's the veiny arms and big shoulders and lats that gross me out.

With abs, I rarely mind very defined abs on a girl. It's when they stick out in big lumpy ridges like a bodybuilder dude's that I get turned off. But I almost never see this outside of women who are probably on the juice, and by the time they get to that stage they usually have Rambo-arms and such that's turning me off anyway.

I don't have a headboard. A long term relationship is going to cause me to have to repaint a wall. Massive beat.

This is from a meet some month ago, but good arch is win :-)

335lb front squat today. bbbbang. lifting 2x day is fun for everyone

t-nation stuff

1. i've been using surge workout fuel this week, i've gotten through my lifting workouts on 1hr and 3 hrs of sleep each. I'm not willing to give it all directly to the surge but it's probably partial placebo and partial reality. I have to get my mind straight and sleep better. I've had a little shake up and i can't slow my skull down at the end of the night.

2. New waterbury interview is up. He has a book coming out under the Men's Health banner called (lame-o warning) Huge in a Hurry. Don't let the title or company fool you, this guy is probably the top shelf writer for t-nation. I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on this book.

http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_...uge_in_a_hurry

basic premise, throw a lot of bodybuilding slow rep stuff out the window. Fast lifting (eccentric and concentric) recruits the largest # of muscle fibers. Lift heavy, aim for 24-25 reps per set, yada yada.

give it a read if you have 5 minutes, post comments

I'm lucky that I followed the link and skimmed the article because I was tempted to call the guy an idiot on your summary. He doesn't recommend 24-25 reps per set. He recommends that many total reps per exercise. He's working right out of Prilepin's chart. And that isn't truly heavy, to be really nitty, but medium.

I love the miss. Hysterical. Have you power cleaned this weight and are working on your squat clean? I ask because you receive the bar so high and try to ride it down (and go soft). Anyway, I don't have much of a full clean, but tall cleans have improved my 3rd pull, so you might consider that. I haven't found developing a squat clean after years of a power clean an easy transition and it looks like you are going through the same thing.

Everything is a party until you put too many back squats and deadlifts into your week.

You guys are tough. Ideally I'd like a 90 year old billionaire with a bad cough, but in the meantime I'm down with any chick who doesn't have a mustache.

shemp,
1st time trying to squat clean in a while, and it shows

I cannot get my back to arch like this, perhaps I just suck at life.
