Ah yes, who loves their dark like I do? I'm not talking about Snickers dark or M&M's dark, I'm talking about the 85%+ dark.

I'm a big fan, although anything > 85% is a bit chalky for me.

I like milk more than I like dark, although I don't eat much chocolate. The best dark chocolate I had was about 73%, but it was wicked good. I don't think I could get down with 99%. Whole foods usually has a good variety of chocolates within the whole range.

Chocolate as a health food?

A lot of the info is in the first post...

As far as downsides I don't think there are any really as long as you don't overdo it since it is a very dense food. I mean 4 pieces is 200 cals... so yeah.

Really it's an acquired taste but once you start enjoying it you fall in love with it. It's also amazing for satisfying any hunger that you have since it's so rich.

I used to eat 99% regularly but switched to 85% for that slight sweet kick to help stop any sugar cravings, though I like 99% on occasion.

The trick with 85%+ is that you have to let it sit in your mouth and just let it melt; I treat it like I'm drinking an espresso, I just feel good when I'm having a piece; I don't just do it for the health benefits (though clearly that's a big +)

yeah, it's MUCH better if you don't chew it at all. putting a square of 85% on the tongue and drinking an espresso is good stuff.

I like the hershey's special dark, I dont know what % cocoa it is and I dont care cuz its bangin. I dont think I could deal with bitter choco, it just wouldnt be choco without the sweetness.

edit: first time I noticed that it says 45% cocoa on the side, goot ****

Last night I had the 85% choc with bourbon. That was good. Like the other guys said, let the choc melt in your mouth, then take real small sips of bourbon. The two compliment each other real nice. Health wise, it was only on ounce of bourbon and 3 squares of choc.

I'm also a dark chocolate freak. I do a tbsp of this (100% cacao) in my (already chocoalte) protein shake each morning:

Awesome.

Yeah I've tried that before and it was great.

Most recent I've done is melting it for a little in the microwave and putting them in a blended shake... mmmm

the possibilities are endless; I have yet to try this but apparently melting them all over sweet potatoes tastes awesome.
