I think it looks ok as well, but not sure. Doesn't look good on the DL though.

Agree on DLs, didn't watch that before. Needs some chest up before the pull.

ya, back is 100% fine on squats.

Deadlifts look ok. its hard to tell cause your shirt is so big

Things I never thought I would read in busto's log:

Back looks fine on both deadlift and squat.

Soulman freeze the deadlift video where you think he loses lumbar extension. I don't see it. Just post here what second that occurs, I want to see what the heck you are seeing. Obviously he deteriorated a bit on the last reps, but they still looked good to me. Better than 90% of H&Fers.

fwiw I dont see anything wrong with the back in that squat vid either. I took your word that you were losing extension before my previous post. You have great hip mobility.

loco,

I don't think he ever gets into proper lumbar extension. It's nowhere near jdockesque or anything, but worth fixing imo. Like weasel says, it's a bit hard to tell due to the big t-shirt. busto, tuck your shirt next time you vid your DL.

His back looks good imo. You do not want excessive extension - that leads to problems like jammed facet joints and cracked vertebrae.

busto, i think your squats look ok... but like me, you're knees and sh*t go back and forth all over the place. Watch someone like G4S and he's mostly just straight up and down.

I don't like it, but I haven't been able to fix it.

Thanks! I'm DL tmrw so I'll get more vids.

re: the knee travel.. i try to not do it, but it just happens, and as long as I point my toes slightly out, they don't seem to cause any patellar tendon pain. I have to work on my ankle mobility and calf flexibility just incase. You know, instead of actually fixing it lol.

Last time I tried sumo, I hurt my back. I'm sure I'm not as stupid as before, but I really am not trying to figure it out on my own or take the take to learn it. Plus I do way too many PCs and feel that my conventional DLs help those.

I'll take vids tmrw of my DLs. Have 270 for 5+ and just gonna do 275x10 or two sets of 8 or something.. *shrug*

Happy with no right pec pain (as of now). Will continue to poke at it and roll it out often.

I warmed up doing some light dumbbell presses and noticed that at the top, my left shoulder gets an inch or so more back than my right. Just posting this here in case anyone might think that is something to worry about.

IMO this tends to happen when you bounce off your hip flexors and not your hamstrings. I think it is relatively inevitable when you squat to the degree of knee flexion that you do (fully A2G).

If you decided to do a more powerlifting style, cut off just below parallel squat with the hamstrings engaged the entire time then I think your knees would not travel as far forward. I'm not saying one style is clearly superior to the other, just that the demands of keeping your torso more vertical do play out a lot in the amount of ankle and knee flexion required at the bottom to keep the bar over mid-foot.

DFII- I much prefer hbbs over lowbar. hbbs just feels a lot more natural for me. I'm sure my mobility/flexbility has improved, but I used to get buttwink doing lowbar.

Time to take a break bro. You'll have to look up what "break" means in the dictionary first though.
