My question is, how much LBM have you gained the last 20 months?? It seems to be a very small amount.
Yeah, very small. Never been able to get a solid estimate because of a relatively high BF% but clearly not packing on the muscle over here. Overall pace is kinda sucky but trying not to think about it that way, I guess what's more relevant is I'm probably at my best in terms of BF% and strength (and lb for lb strength).

Your body is just not responding. I think its time to ditch workout routines of the last two years and try something totally different.
My guess is your body would respond much better if you hit every bodypart twice a week and started going to muscle failure more often. Lyle has a decent routine for that on his site (I think its called generic bulking routine). Basically in my opinion you need much more volume, see if your body responds to that.
Yeah, I've considered this often, but I refuse to believe I'm a special snowflake and can't respond to basic barbell training. As Soulman mentioned, lots of intermittent dieting and not-killer genetics probably aren't helping, combined with maybe suboptimal wim/form/consistency at times... I
think I'm finally comfortable with the process and how I react and what I need to do to be successful, so the next few months will be important. I may consider something radical if the summer is a failure.
As an aside, I can't see adding a ton of volume helping, because if anything my recovery is complete garbage. It's not that I'm not putting enough stress on the muscles, it's like if I do a pushup during the week I suddenly fail bench the next haha.

p.s Also change name of thread. "Bixby gets fat" is too negative and may be the culprit. Go with something like Saw's gets ripped thread.
notsureifsrs...
Thanks for taking the time and providing the input though.
