A mod posting this and nyc not getting banned after instantly breaking it is beyond me.

And PS: there have been plenty of examples of guys not getting flamed for wanting to get ripped. Look at siq's posts in the locked March **** thread, no one flamed him despite his goal of wanting to look ripped.

On the other hand, people's extremely misinformed views on how to get ripped get flamed if they stick to them even if they know nothing.

Nudes only. Everyone knows chicks just want a fat ****.

Being fat is the easiest way to increase your pull-up resistance.

nycballer=demichelle gimmick?

Hahaha.

Dude, don't you know that everyone who posts here has a BF % of 25 and can't do a single pullup? nyc has done the research, it's a done deal.

no one rips into me about caring about being in "shape" but that's because I don't do it in some ******ed fashion at least exercise programming wise.

Out of shape at doing what, exactly? Being skinny? The whole point here is that your definition of "fitness" and "out of shape" are out of step. If we gave Kyle liposuction for Christmas, does that make him fit all of a sudden?

god where is your reading comprehension. did i ever say most, no of course not. i was speaking generally about lean and ripped being considerably more desirable then fat and big. but me personally? def not the best but up there for sure

25% BF does not necessarily mean out of shape. There are plenty of professional athletes who would fit the bill.
yes nfl players which represent prolly .0001% of those out there with 25% bf. those offensive and defensive lineman could crush most within 50 pounds of them on any measure of athletic fitness. so we can make an exception for the couple or so of the best conditioned athletes in the world who carry around some extra weight
03-02-2010 , 09:13 PM
No. He can't win a beauty contest between him and nycballer, that is pivotal and final step.

lol at thinking girls know what they want

I'd take my chances v a large portion of NFL athletes/Oly lifters/WSM competitors if I got to choose the events. I doubt any of them would be so brash as to say they could "crush" at "any measure of athletic fitness". As a fictional Vasily Aleexev would lol at my challenge of a mile run, and allow my 9m mile to easily take the prize.

lets take a poll of every doctor and provide this scenario: guy x has 25% bf, guy x cannot do a pullup, guy x runs a 9:00 minute mile. would you consider him in shape or fit? we could prop bet this one. forget every doctor, extend that to every person who isn't a bodybuilder

So the argument has now changed entirely? Small and skinny more desirable than large and muscular? Not ripped vs fat.....

Lol at the bolded....
03-02-2010 , 09:18 PM
Umm... why are bodybuilders excluded? Why are we polling people? Are you just arguing because your lambo is in the shop or they don't make Z rated snow tires or something?

What if he could lift 280kg over his head?

I'm pretty the vast majority in here can do a pull-up at this point

We're gonna exclude the people with >40 inch verts as well, since we're excluding bodybuilders for no reason.

who is the audience? i've repeated this a million times, if the audience is bodybuilders of course you are right, if the audience is anyone else on the planet you are wrong

most of the guys here seem to high bf %s, that is who we are arguing about

i'm nothing special but there is no doubt compared to a forum full of people who's idea of fitness is 20% bodyfat and a big squat i am near the top
03-02-2010 , 09:25 PM
"most of the guys" like who?

hey we don't have to exclude bodybuilders. you guys win that audience no doubt, but not the other 99.9999% of the world
03-02-2010 , 09:25 PM
Pls list all these regs with 25% BF
03-02-2010 , 09:26 PM
That is not anyone's idea of fitness. I refuse to believe you are this dense.

Only bodybuilders prefer large muscular men to skinny ones? You cannot actually believe that.
03-02-2010 , 09:26 PM
I dunno what nycballer is arguing about. Virtually every person is at most 6 months away from a similar physique. Weak/little LBM/low BF%. Does it occur to anyone that... people have different goals? And bragging about meager accomplishments are lol?
03-02-2010 , 09:27 PM
all this pull up talk has got me thinking

if you could pick one exercise to test overall strength, what would it be? How about a 1rm test and another for max reps, I guess that'd be chins or push-ups.

Deadlifts for 1RM?

Some of us are walking around at just over 10% at 195 lbs.
