on bet365 and willhill Conor and RDA are both -110

Only Coral at the moment has Conor above even money and that is only just 21/20.

I feel like Dos Anjos at 10/11 is amazing value, quite like him at 6/1 to win in Round 1 too.

Ridiculous odds. I wish I could enjoy betting against McGregor.

Sports Interaction put up a +300 line for McGregor to win the LW belt in 2016 after the Aldo fight. They haven't adjusted yet in light of the unofficial announcement for 197. A nice indirect way to have something on the fight if you want to bet McGregor and not get hosed.

He would get full mount and throw the slaps

It was Pancrase type rules I'm sure, other dude was slapping away on the feet

lmao so remember when Cro Cop admitted to using HGH awhile back assuming he was going to fail WADA?

Apparently his results came back clean.

Just... I don't even.

lol. Shining a light on the futility of the whole thing.

Really? and I'm not going bother looking up the rest of the mush you have posted.

im fine with calling mcgregor goat after he beats aldo (was ranked #1 p4p) and then RDA in a super tough division.

Who can you compare to that?

Silva never fought this kind of competition, Jon Jones hasnt won the heavyweight belt(yet)
01-09-2016 , 06:16 PM
he needs longevity.
01-09-2016 , 06:20 PM
A guy who has had maybe 2 legit tests doesn't get to be GOAT.
01-09-2016 , 06:21 PM
beating 2 champs in 2 of the most skilled divisions in the history of the ufc...

now theyre just "tests" eh?

How many tests did Silva get ? Belfort? Then he failed his second "test"?

Or chael sonnen is a bigger challenge than RDA o_O.

If he'll be goat or not after his eventual fall is another story, but he's definitely on the GOAT run if he beats RDA.

Conor doesn't have 2 wins as good as this list alone. This doesn't include Texeira, Chael or Vera. Both Vera and Cormier fought a lot at HW.

Jones wins include:

Cormier
Gustafsson
Belfort
Evans
Machida
Shogun
Rampage

last 4 were way past their prime

I mean if you dont take into account moving up and winning a second belt a few months later then yeah jones and gsp have beaten more good veterans
01-09-2016 , 06:58 PM
GSP is the greatest of all time, Jones will over take him if he moves up and wins the heavyweight title.

Conor would enter the conversation if he beats Dos Anjos and Frankie Edgar.

You are hanging your hat on a win over an unprepared Chad Mendes (not a champion) where he showed serious vulnerability on the ground and a 13 sec KO which while very very impressive is just 1 win.

Yeah I agree. Taking down two champs in their primes in two weightclasses is enough to overcome longevity. It's unprecedented. How difficult an achievement is what matters.

GSP, Jones and Fedor all showed over many years that they were better than the opposition at basically every aspect of MMA. How many fighters outstruck, outgrappled or outwrestled any of those three (outside of when Fedor was old). McGregor landed a punch after 15 seconds and in this hypothetical would beat a guy coming off one title defence. Plus both guys are arguably coming off 'roids.

If Werdum beats Cain he has a better claim to GOAT than if Conor beats RDA. Werdum beat Fedor (unbeaten, GOAT), KOed K1 champion Mark Hunt, and also holds wins over top 10 fighters Gabriel Gonzaga, Roy Nelson, Brandon Vera, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira & Travis Browne. Add in two victories against Cain Velasquez, who many considered the GOAT HW before their first fight and that's a much more impressive resume than McGregor's. Werdum has 5 losses, all to top 10 opponents whereas McGregor has 2 to guys who probably weren't top 100?? Beating Cain twice is arguably as impressive as beating Aldo then RDA & the rest of Werdum's resume is much better than McGregor's.

heavyweight MMA fighters are to lightweight fighters as woman's mma is to men's mma

id personally never mention a heavyweight in p4p or goat terms
01-09-2016 , 07:49 PM
Yea, calling Conor GOAT after 2-3 elite wins is pretty silly. Especially in a sport where styles dictate fights so much.

His win over Mendes was a 2 week notice fight for Mendes and his 13 second win over Aldo didnt show a whole lot.

It might be the GOAT 2 fight win streak but that's about it.
01-09-2016 , 08:43 PM
Oh we're talking about the singular GOAT? I was just saying he's in the same space if he beats RDA. And knocking off 2 prime champions in 2 deep divisions in succession would be a GOAT achievement.
01-09-2016 , 08:52 PM
lets settle on goat 2 fights win streak if he beats RDA, with a clear path to uncontested GOAT soon after
