Though I'd prefer to see the White Ranger in action.

Forget trying to fight this guy:

He should worry about the Video Store Kid.

I'm sure this was mentioned in the other thread but it was criminal of Ed Herman's coach to let him go out for the second round. I just had surgery for a torn acl and almost couldn't watch when he went back out, it was so obviously going to end badly.

Herman is done as a UFC fighter knee injury or not. Blessing in disguise imo if he rehabs his knee and moves into a different career field where he could make more money than he would be making fighting in smaller promotions.

He should drop to fight Anderson Silva. He will end his career as the most decorated 16-11 fighter, make a lot of money, and it gives Silva someone to fight instead of being forced to run through who he has already beat again
I dont see why ppl still think randy v silva is a good fight. Silva can end this fight at will. he'll probably can just clown randy for a few minutes before putting his lights out. not a good fight for randy

The only type of fighters that give Silva problems are very good wrestlers and Randy is one of the best, so i don't think it's gonna be like that.. but Silva still takes it though.

really good interview w/ marcus jones (former Tampa Bay Bucs 1st round pick) about TUF 10. Interview is from Cagepotato, the bestest mma site i go to.

i'm awfully impressed w/ his answers and humility in this interview. Hope he puts on a good show.

what makes you say that? cause he lost 1 round in 10 ufc fights to a wrestler? so by default wrestlers give him problems? i dont recall silva ever being in danger in that fight against henderson

Didn't Henderson take Silva's back but ran out of time in round 1?

Penn/Sanchez moved to Dec. 12th.

The full rumored card currently includes:

* Champ B.J. Penn vs. Diego Sanchez (for lightweight title)*
* Rashad Evans vs. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson*
* Cheick Kongo vs. Frank Mir*
* Thiago Alves vs. Paulo Thiago*

wow that'd be a sick card. Are they not doing a New Year's one though?
09-03-2009 , 06:43 PM
I thought that Rampage was out of that card because he had committed to some movie or something, and it annoyed Dana...

Looks like its going to be a good card.

Goddamn, are Dana White/Joe Silva trying to destroy Paulo Thiago's career or something? I know he got that surprise win over Koscheck, but Fitch then Alves is brutal. Both guys have fought for the WW title. Give the guy some lower level opponents to prove himself against before throwing him to the wolves.

Henderson did not take Silva's back. Anderson let go of the weird half-guard and rolled back into full guard/body triangle.

Lutter was really close to finishing Silva imo ground n pounding him out before he lost his mind. I think someone that can take him down, stay on top, and work GnP has the best shot at beating Silva. That's why I think Rampage is the best candidate. If GSP was a little bigger I'd def bet on him. Randy should fit the mold pretty well but it looked like he got swept pretty easily by nog so dunno

I stand corrected. You are right.

i think rampage would just try to outbox him. has he even attempted a takedown in the UFC?

I never said it would be a good fight. I kind of implied it would be a career ender for Couture. Also for selfish reasons, as I'd rather watch Silva fight someone he hasn't already beat before

Really is a very good interview; i'm actually slightly excited now to watch this TUF, sounds like a lot of good fighters going to be on it. The whole bunch-of-young-idiots-getting-drunk-in-house-throwing-furniture-into-pool bit got really old, maybe this season will be worth watching, who knows.

rampage is not an idiot (he's no genius either though)

he will definitely not try to stand with anderson for too long, and will take him down at every opportunity

i recall him taking henderson down a few times. And he also had one takedown against jardine (or maybe 2?)

Why don't more people watch K-1? It is so much better than MMA IMO. I guess MMA is alot more tactical, but BJJ/Wrestling/Grappling doesn't really interest me as much as the standup game. I don't really like watching two decent BJJ guys take each other down, and then try to unsuccessfully pass each other guards, and ultimately see a lot of unchanging positions because they can eaily negate each other skills. And with all the sweat and vaseline nowdays we hardly ever see incredible submissions anymore. Does this really excite you guys more than seeing two elite strikers bang for 3 exciting 3 minute round where every second is action, and every shot is one away from a incredible knockout?
09-03-2009 , 11:54 PM
umm, yeah, i like mma more. I watch k-1 too though. I even watch boxing sometimes.

They're all just different combat sports. I don't really see how you can say one is better than the other...

All within the last year or so. Other good stuff that I can't find GIFs for.

Also, I like K-1 (and boxing, sport jiu-jitsu, sub grappling, etc.), too. I think most people around here do, it's just not as accessible as MMA for the most part.
