That said, Overeem is a huge favourite vs JDS imo, I don't mean to hate on JDS because he is very likeable but he has pretty poor technique.

I think it is interesting matchup but would definitely pick JDS. But of course can't judge Overeem standup based only on Werdum fight. Overeem fought a conservative fight vs one of the best submission grapplers in MMA right now, he would expect a standup battle vs JDS. I think the main reason JDS would be good favorite IMO, is Reem's chin is pretty suspect.

The so called damage is easy to control. The only possible issue is someone assuming every PPV is one fight, or every show is one fight. They just need to run something that shows their is an entire card, and when the actual deal kicks in I am sure they will.

I think the casual fan was also busy watching College Football, and getting ready for the Pac JMM fight, they probably flipped back and forth until the fight started. They said "Holy ****, Wow!" and flipped back to the game or fights. It might be a blessing in disguise eventually.

Too bad he's gonna lose to Brock

This all might be irrelevant though because Overeem very likely might not get past Brock. Bad match up stylistically. I really want to see Overeem vs JDS, instead of JDS vs Brock though.

Overeem was injured and you could barely call what happened even a fight, Overeem was pretty much letting him hit him so he wouldn't keep flopping to the floor, he knew Werdum had nothing for him. I assume JDS won't do that

Brock has a much better shot against JDS then he does against Cain. Brock wont stand in front of JDS for a heartbeat either. Still JDS is quick enough to catch him before he gets worn out imo. So is Overeem.

well he might not be but he says hes happy at post fight conference.

jds/overeem is going to be fantastic
11-12-2011 , 11:47 PM
what can overeem do against brocks takedowns?
11-12-2011 , 11:48 PM
Reem has a very weak ground game and his cardio is suspect. Reem has not beaten anyone legit in mma in several years. Strikeforce hw division is a joke. Brock cant strike but he will expose the holes in Reem's game.

Cain looked out of shape and slow tonight.

JDS win beat Reem. JDS is so much more on the rise.

Who has reem beaten on the ground? Brett rogers via gnp like 3 years ago? Thanks but i give the edge to brock there. If reem can keep it standing he will win obv. No one can say reem has fought any legit contenders in mma in several years. Ufc will be a huge wakeup call for reem. This isnt strikeforce throwing no names at you or dream japan bs

:0

he was injured? i read werdum was injured. anyway, we saw that fight very differently. you saw overeem keep it standing by letting himself get hit (brilliant strategy). i saw him take weak punches and look afraid to engage, whereas jds nearly killed werdum with one punch. i think overeem is too slow and jds will be favored fairly strongly if overeem beats brock.

he won the european adcc i think.

hes no slouch, but having brock on top of you will be tough.

hit him before hes taken down. Or throw a vicious knee.

I mean brock is getting the takedown. I don't think overeem has what it takes to stuff them.
The question is if Overeem can make Lesnar do that discodance while they are on their feet.

There was no badr and remy had to bow out due to an eye injury. It definetely wasnt the strongest k1 16 ever. His fight against spong did impress me. He wasnt adapting to heavyweight. He got caught by a heavy hitter and rather than folding like he did in the past. He fought through and won a decision. Like I said, huge reem fan, but jds is the favorite here. He doesnt need excellent technique when he has an iron chin. JDS can take a punch, overeem is suspect imo.

omg it was 60m viewers in brazil?
11-13-2011 , 12:04 AM
Here is a qeuestion.

If you wanted everything to go perfectly, a fight that would live up to the entire hype and show, fill up your perfect amount of airtime and impress the casual fan that started watching today. What post Griffin/Bonnar fight would you choose to air? Results would remain the same, UFC's popularity would be equivalent to what it was pre-fight today, there would be a Primetime in case these guys had a feud. You are basically taking the FOX debut back in time.
