Been slacking on non-rap music this year, haven't listened in full to the Destroyer album yet. Loved Kaputt so need to do that.

the videos.
uber driver and the french speaking guy
seems ridiculous to me and the production is far below average.
but: there are songs and videos like these released daily in german (with sizzurp, chains, "scurrr" adlibs and all the other stereotypes).
most of them are bad, but i enjoy some of them for the entertainment value.
german = my first language, so i can feel/understand the fine line between irony and embarrassment.

agree that most of this style is garbage but some entertaning stuff here and there

re the uber yeah it's nothing special but fun song, the beat is pretty good imo. and i don't understand a word of it but the dressed-in-all-white french guy is awesome song is really nice too tbh

razorbacker, i found Open Your Eyes to be a solid song but i rarely get emotionally attached to that kind of music. I'm pretty sure i almost always prefer male singers, or no singer and that has a lot to do with it. That said it's promising enough and ill make sure to look out for their album in feb. Oh and it has a sexy vibe to it, maybe i would like it more if it was slower? OTOH It could also be more benefitting (to me) if it had more excess and redundancy to it. This sounds like a half-measure.

OT: Why did this thread decline over the years? A couple of years ago there were thousands of posts. Obviously thanks to everybody who still do post but this is terrible IMO. It used to be such a great music outlet. I'm hoping for 2016 to bring change to this.

Any of you guys like the Grimes album that came out last month? It's certainly more poppy than her older stuff, which I'm trying to reconcile with, but a couple songs are pretty damn catchy imo. Anyway, I still really respect her as an artist.

I love about half of the new Grimes album. The two songs you mentioned plus Venus Fly are my favorites. I liked the early release version of Realiti better than the album version.

I saw her like 2 weeks ago in Chicago, really good show. She's pretty awkward on the mic, but everyone knows she's going to be awkward and rolls with. fun times!
