Kanye played a last minute show a few nights ago at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC, and many of the people on the album showed up to perform. There are lots of videos floating around, and it's funny watching Justin Vernon (of Bon Iver) on stage trying to dance around with all the hip-hop folks.
wait.. so you read pitchfork.. followed by hipsterrunnoff..
lol
reading hipster runoff makes me feel like i'm at least staying self-aware and laughing at myself about the fact that 90% of the non-punk non-metal music i get into these days i get into from pitchfork
I kinda agree, the song has not aged well. I'll still want to throw on Hey Ya sometimes and it's been 7 years. No real need to ever hear **** You again as far as I'm concerned, not to mention Cee-Lo looks like a black Lazy Meatball.
I must admit that I was partially buying the Kanye CD for my younger brother's birthday because I wanted to see how my mom reacted to the cover... but it appears that you don't get that image in an actual CD. I guess I could've assumed that.
i still don't understand the appeal of girl talk... I just cant bring myself to listen to it for more than 5 minutes. The constant mixing/sampling of songs and change of rhythm drives me insane.
If GT drives you insane, John Oswald should pretty much kill you :-)
my god The National are just an amazing band, what a fantastic show. Then for the last song they turned off all the mic's and just had a trumpet and acoustic guitar, then sang Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks just with the whole audience joining in. Was a special moment to top off an amazing show

Rap in general has always seemed like it's really bad live, for obvious reasons, but if there's an enjoyment disparity greater than album Kanye vs. live Kanye, I'd like to hear it.
ETA: Not like I've seen him, just basing it off TV/youtube/guessing.

Feel the same way about **** you/heya but I don't think All of the Lights is going to be something people are still loving years later accept for big ye fans.
