I appreciate the links since I never really read pitchfork.

Can't wait for new Black Keys.

Plastic Beach is the most disappointed I've been with an album in a long time

Is it even worth pointing this stuff out or does everybody who reads this thread already listen to their daily tracks?
Deceptively catchy.

I check Pitchfork semi-regularly but I hardly ever listen to the featured tracks for some reason. So I don't mind the posts at all.

I'M GOING TO SEE MOTHER****ING PAVEMENT!

Just got tickets for September 26th at The Tabernacle, the LAST show on the tour and only one of the stops in the US.

I don't think I've ever been so jacked about seeing a band.

Anyone else going?

That's verified true. I kind of know one of the guys (they all grew up around Atlanta) and I've heard a close friend of his tell that story and it's pretty insane.

Nice, chill tune. I'll have to start listening to those daily tracks, cheers for the heads up!

I've only started checking out a couple of music blogs recently. So far I've found that Said The Gramophone and The Torture Blog rarely fail to deliver at least a couple of kickass tracks every day or two. Any other good ones out there that people know of?

As a side note, one of the contributors to Said The Gramophone also made a short tv-but-on-the-internet series called The Bitter End that definitely had some charm to it.

Was coming in here to post about these guys. They are going to get huge...

And yes, to those who responded earlier, it is a "joke" but the guy who is ninja is a performance artist in Cape Town and has been in many hip hop groups and takes on many personas.

For me its fascinating and actually pretty good/hilarious.

And again, they will be huge.

They're basically if Da Ali G was a real act/group.

I was looking at random bands playing at Sasquatch and I enjoyed this one by Garfunkel and Oates a lot.

Good song but not even one of Burial's top five songs iyam. Actually maybe it sneaks in at number five thinking about it.

Recieved the new Crookers album today, not sure if it's my thing, but ridiculous line-up of collaborators. Miike Snow track best though imo.

Ok so I made a playlist from last year's music thread up to Octoberish, and then one from the last two months of last year + this year. A lot of good stuff from last year (Sunset Rubdown, Florence and the Machine, Phoenix, Fever Ray, Deskhop, Hockey, Neko Case, Silversun Pickups, and a bunch of other random one-off great songs). Each playlist had about 300 songs. I'm 50 songs into this year's and haven't found one I really like yet. Very disappointed so far. Maybe I've just hit some negative variance and heard all the bad ones first.
